READ! Anything you can get your hands on. Then think about it, discuss it, and read something else. Reading is so important. Listening is another good learning skill.

you will need to be more specific , as we don't know what you are learning, and at what stage or age you are, and there may be different methods. basically you need to practise, practise and practise.

to learn well, you first need to read and comprehend well. If your English is up to standard, it will make any other subject easier to learn. there are many computer aids and some free sites which can help brush up on English and other skills. allways be willing to read up on the topic, to get a fuller picture.

If you read a History chapter as if it is a story , you should allready remember the gist of it , before fine tuning dates and names. in other words , don't think of it as something you have to learn parrot fashion. though ofcourse that does have it's place in some learning. here you could use tapes which you have bought or read out yourself,cd's, and listen to them while you do chores or something where you can listen in.

other learning skills would be; summarizing your work , to learn the main points.

my husband advised our son to pay attention in class, which means that the teacher's explanation should help save time swotting up later, as you should understand the work allready. this has paid off for him.

good luck and enjot it. oh yes, go to http://www.ukcosa.org.uk/images/methods.pdf for some tips, or look up study methods to find others.

Find something you REALLY want to learn. Don't take too much on at once. Maybe learn how to cook a good frittata that pleases you or learn how to play just 2 notes on a piano/recorder. Then learn a bit more. Do it in stages small enough for you to manage.

Doing too much is how you set yourself up for failure. If you do small things first you will get the expectation of success quite quickly. Once you start to succeed you will find you can take on more difficult chunks.

And if you take on too much? Quickly break it up, if you can't try something similar but easier. If you can go round the problem like that, when you look back at it you will find it isn't there. Learn to leave things, your head will sort things out while you aren't looking. Whaddya want to learn anyway? How hard is it?

take short breaks
go through something new always which will keep you going
Intelligence is distributed throughout the body. For example, if you have ever played a musical instrument, you may have noticed that your hands seem to have a mind of their own. When studying, pay attention to signals your body may be giving you. If you are learning new material and your mind/body seems to be resisting, your body may be telling you that you have other needs which must be tended to that are more important..

involve some physical activity to keep u fresh
Playing a musical instrument (encourages development of precise timing)
Athletics (the more timing and coordination involved the better).
Drawing and sculpturing (eye hand coordination)
Traveling and experiencing different cultures
These activities give you "mental rest". Your body rests when you sleep, but your mind keeps on cranking.

a three step process is to:
1. read the answer of something
2. keep repeating the answer and memorise it
3. then cover it and write the answer on a paper

if you got all the answers on the paper right that means you have learnt the answers.

i hope that helps.
