Primary & Secondary Education - July 2006

I know why I failed grade.But they just won't give me another chance.They cut the program no child left behind,and when students wan't to be in that program,their won't be a chance.No child left behind is a program that helps students be in the grade that you failed for only one semester,then you get like help to take the test in one semester,and then if you pass it,you get moved on to the next grade,so that means that the students that were in that progam took the test 3 times.The first tine was when they took it in the school year.Then it was in summerschool,then their was in the program.Every day since I failed in summerschool,I've been crying.Now For the rest of my life I'm gonna wonder.When I go to 8th grade,I'm going to say,Wonder how it will be like if right now I was in high school.I'm going to wonder,and I'm going to cry.So please help me with my problem,I really need some help because I care about my education,and my future.So please e-mail please,please help me PLEASE!!!

Creationism, Intelligent Design, Evolution are all "theories" (not arguing this point...) on creation (how things were created). The issue remains "how did things start?" This, however, is a point of THEOLOGY. Why, then, is there a debate of what should go into the SCIENCE classes? Evolution is FACT (look at bacteria and their resistance to antibotics). Shouldn't it then be taught not as the start of life but as an occuring phenomena?

We have an option in our school, where if your teacher aprroves it, you can take Algerba 1 in 8th grade, so in high school you can be a grade ahead in math. Do other school offer this?

I have noticed that atleast 75 - 80 percent of the questions asked on Answers are either grammatically incorrect, or are so poorly constructed and full of mispelled words that it makes you wonder if the asker even went to school. There are questions that I don't even attempt to answer because I can't make sense of them. Has the educational system in this country gotten so bad that most of the population can't make themselves understood due to a lack of skill in the written word? I am beginning to think so!

I am going to start my second year of teaching 9-10yr olds next year. The class I am inheriting are very noisy, with a wide range of abilities. I'm looking to paint their classroom a colour that will stimuate them, but not send them wild (I don't want them too sedate though, talk is good if it's appropriate).

I don't want to ask parents as I want them before school starts. Teachers already ask parents to buy too much stuff. I am not going to buy 10 pair of shoes. Shoe stores won't give them away- I've tried. Any ideas?

in my class,i just speak broken English,but sometimes i learn from my mistakes. i dont care n dont bother them bcoz my teacher said i have to speak,listen and read about English,dont bother when people make laugh. yeah i think if i already clever,why need i go to school..i go to school because i want to learn what the thing i dont know right??,,i love my teacher.

I just heard on the news that the Katy, Texas teacher who taped a student's mouth last year and got fired is now going to get paid $40,000. It was either that or have the district re-instate her. I mean that was wrong to tape the kid's mouth. She deserved to be fired and now she's getting paid a year's salary for free?
This will open doors for teachers to think they can get money for reprehensible behavior.
I think it's a disgrace that they paid her anything!
What do you teachers or educators think about this verdict?

my teacher makes heaps of very obvious mistakes, my mom said it is a way of knowing if the students are "sharp eyed" and she makes a joke of her being 95 years old (she looks more like 40 or so) and she tells us weird but funny stories about her self if there is a way of getting rid of the first two i mentioned please tell me.
