I won two science fairs in school, here are the ideas from those. Feel free to send me a private message for more detailed info:
1. Composting: I actually set up a compost bin and MADE compost. Kept track of what went in, how often I turned it over, etc.
2. Water vs. other items on plants. Use a farilt hardy plnat like a marigold or just a non-blooming green plant. Plant in individual pots, keep in same room so it has same light and temp. Feed each of them the same amount of liquid, just differentl things like lemon juice, bleach, soapy water, tea, etc. Your "control" gets the same amount of water as the others do of the other stuff. Also dfo one with water but twice the amount. Record results of what is healthier at the end of 1 week, 2 weeks, and 1 month.

Good luck to you!

I did the same thing with the plants and won my school science fair too. Try using water, soda of some kind, orange juice, soapy water and milk to water the plants. Good luck.

Google 'John Bedini'. Some kid supposedly got first place for duplicating his battery recharger.
