As a Teacher in a Day Care Center, I witnessed another Teacher, who is also the Director of the Center, slap a toddler across the face out of anger and frustration. I went to the owners and told them what I had observed, and they said that they would take care of it. When I left at 6:00 p.m. today, nothing was done, and the Director obviously had no clue that I had observed her actions. If the owners choose not to do anything, I am considering going to The Dept. of Children and Family Services and filing a complaint. Am I doing the right thing, or can you suggest another option?
Thank You. This was very shocking and difficult for me to see, and I am very upset that nothing was done about it.

1.) I am a Cadette in Girl Scouts and we are working on our Silver Badge. We have to do something involving 'leadership'. I was thinking about tutoring and teaching younger kids with math and language arts at the public library. (Like ages 4-6) Do you think that library would let me hang up flyers or pass out brochures about it at their library and let me teach them there? If not, then where else could I do it?

2.) Is it a good idea to do that for the silver badge? What are some other options I could do instead of that that involves younger kids? Do you think I could help out at a daycare, maybe? See, I like to work with younger kids and I also like to teach. So that is what I was thinking when I thought about teaching and tutoring younger kids.

3.) If I do teach younger kids, where can I get good worksheets and lesson plans? Where can I get good ideas about things to do with them?

Thanks!

We are very happy to have our new teacher. There has been some talk of other schools in the area giving tuition free or at a drastic discount. We are a small co-op preschool who is barely getting by. But we also would like to be fair and to keep our teacher happy. Any ideas Please Help!

I am a nursery school assistent through my university once a week. This week they are doing a theme for preparing for winter, with a main focus on bears and how they hibernate. Does any one have any SIMPLE arts and crafts activities I could do with them? Keep in mind their artistic skills are not very developed and they do not have very long attention spans!

I have a 4yr old son who is nw in Nursery level, is it normal for him if he still doesn't write his alphabet well? And don't have the patience to practice and I don't know the correct way to teach him. So please recommend a school which I can put him to let him practice his writing in a correct way. Perhaps a good school with an economic school fees.

my nephew is 5 years old and has recently started school the past couple of months his behaver has been very up and down and we are always unsure from day to day how he is going to behave, there have been a couple of serious incidents that have occured

1 - biting a child in school for a football
2 - stabbing a child in the neck with a pencil because he wanted the colour the other child had
3 - in a play area he pulled another childs glasses of and broke them in half

all these behaviours and worrying myself and my sister and we are struggling to deal with them we have not let him out, took his toys and computer games etc we have talked and shouted but it just seems as though he has a wee switch in him that he goes from being so good to so bad. I am in the child care professional myself but am still struggling to deal with this behaviour.

can anyone help?
