The headband idea is wonderful, but just too spruce it up, get Large brown paper bags from grocery store, cut them up the middle,a place for arms on the sides, and a place for their head, Then paint them Brown too look like indian vests, also you could paint half black and make pilgrim hats and then they could wear them to your feast.
Also let them decorate a place mat....
hand prints can easily look like turkey, and then laminate them for their dinner.

Let them make an indian head band with a feather on the side.
