My 18 mo old child likes watching children's programs on tv. Since we live in California, they are all in English. I'm trying to teach her to be bilingual. She is starting to pick up English, so I think it's time to introduce her to Chinese too.

I LOVE Children, and I want to work with them! It saddens me to hear all the horror stories about DayCare providers abusing children, especially when I know I am a good person who would never EVER hurt a child. I would be able to give them all the love and attention they deserve. I need to get out of the business I'm in now, and get into something that I can feel passionate about... I need to do something where I feel I am "bettering" the world.

I heard there was a therpy called music therpy, my daughter loves to sing, dance and loves to listen to music. I am wondering what music therpy consist of and how it works and if anyone has seen the effects of it working vs. not working? Does anyone know any websites about it and has anyone ever gotten it approved for IEP, at an ARCH meeting at a childs public school and what are the pointers to use??

I was working with the children in my practicum and the coordinator for the day read a book about a school bus that was really cute. It had different animals that rhymed (Fox in sox, etc.) getting on the bus and it said "Ride the bus to school, to school, ride the bus to school" frequently throughout the book. I was wondering if anyone knew the name of it! It's really cute and I want to get my hands on it! Thanks!

Specifically, not just sing it, but identify letters. Is this something that isn't mastered until kindergarten. What about numbers, 1 thru 10? What would be considered an early age?

I work in a nursery school and we encourage the children to help with the tidying up of their toys at the end of each session,
Most are eager to help, but there is always the odd half a dozen that wander around ignoring you or carrying on playing or nipping off to the loo at that certain point. Its not fair on the others.
we have tried a reward system where best tidyier upper takes home our special bear, and also 4 best ones get to go on the outdoor bicycles first.
But because of turnover of staff during week that isnt always constantly adhered too.
anyone with any other tips that may work with this

I want an input from you regarding the schools in and around Sarjapur.
As of now my daughter is 2 years and 10 months and I wish that she gets the admission in LKG in June 2007 at that time she will be 3 years and 5 months .
Are there schools which takes the child in LKG at the age less than 3 years and 8 months ? basically if we don't get her admission now then she will loose upon a year .

The computers in my Schoo-Age classroom are very old and dont work well. My boss won't buy a new mouse and I cant find any that fit this ancient cpu. My kids miss playing harry potter!!!

I work at a preschool and we will be having the christmas show in a month. My class is supposed to team up with the 2-3 year old class (my class is 3-4 yr olds) and sing a christmas song.. I dont want them to have a song where they can't remember the lyrics so I need something short. What are some easy to learn songs that the kids will have fun with?
