as a teacher - and former pre-school teacher - i think the idea of each child child being "nurtured and guided in individually-paced learning and development" is a wonderful idea.

in practical settings, however, it is not that easy to achieve. you need a very well trained staff, an excellent curriculum director, and a group of kids who are independent and relatively good natured and well behaved.

if you are looking for a school for your child - take more than one tour of the school, observe a few classes (without your child being there) and don't be afraid to let the school "interview" your child as you interview them...

good luck! i think any good preschool program (montessori or otherwise) is a great start to learning and future school success!!!!!

I love the Montesori method for Preschool and in some areas they actually have schools that teach it in the higher grades. My only concern would be if they get too use to learning this way and then bam put into the mainstream of the Public school system where they don't teach this way it may be an adjustment. I think it is even better for those that are going into a Private school or homeschooling in the elementary grades. Just something to think about. I can't give Montessori learning enough praise. I think it is one of the best ways to learn.

My first baby attended montessori from age 2 one million/2-4. She stopped going with the aid of fact we moved, and that i could no longer have the money for for her to bypass to Montessori considering i finished working. i admire Montessori! My daughter grew to become into greater desirable than happy. She enjoyed the sense of Independence that the whole philosophy fosters. via her 4th birthday she ought to study user-friendly books and had a good sense of time and place value. She ought to even upload and subtract with manipulatives. Her manners have been impeccable (attributable to the courtesy and style curriculum), and he or she had somewhat a feeling of selection. each and all of the academic surpassed off via exposure, and he or she grew to become into in no way pushed too problematic. Did I point out she additionally grew to grow to be conversational in Spanish? She transitioned into public Kindergarten with out any gadget faults. easily I characteristic her easy college success to Montessori. I fairly much sense accountable no longer putting my youngest in Montessori. If I have been to bypass returned to artwork, it particularly is the only application i could evaluate. do no longer hear to me, nonetheless. deliver your baby with you and bypass be conscious. See what you think of first hand. good success.
