Quality childcare is where they have the BEST interest of your kid in mind.
Here are some things they should have:
1. lots of interaction with caregivers and other kids
2. books read to them
3. some educational qualities (numbers, colors etc)
4. Very Clean and well organized
5. Clean, smart, and educated caregivers
6. a Safety Plan in place (fire, earthquakes, floods etc)
7. proper tools and furniture for the age group
8. educational toys and fun toys
9. every toy and book and items touched by toddlers cleaned
with bleach at the end of the day
10. building is safe from street and outside adults (no busy area
or area in bad part of town or too busy around it)
These are just a few things you should look for. Also look first for their LICENSE and make sure they are not caring for more than the law requires.

A person or organization who take into account the social, health, religious, intellectual & individual needs of a child. If they allow a child to express their emotions in the way the child knows how without belittling the child, if the behaviour of the child is deemed inappropriate then they should not isolate the child in regards to sticking them in a corner but sit & talk with them about how it effects others etc find out why the child is acting out rather than pass it off as another child being naughty. They should respect the parents wishes for that child in regards to sleep, meals, expected behaviour & interaction.
No matter who....a child carer should ALWAYS put the interests of the child first & allow the child to grow without restrictions & at the same time supervising the child every minute they are in their care.

Something where the child is happy and learning, and where the parents don't have to jump through too many hoops (but parental involvement *is* important!).
This can happen in a group setting, in a nanny setting, or with one parent who stays home.
OTOH, bad quality childcare (abuse, unhappiness, stagnation, neglect) can happen in all three situations as well.

I just put my little one in daycare this year. I looked at several day cares before I choose this one. What I looked for was that the had the right quality of teacher for each class. That they knew how to handle an asthmatic child and that they were patient with my child. I mad sure that they were well qualified for the things my child need. You have to research the daycare your interested in to know if that is the daycare you want your child to attend too.

Personally, I was never interested in the "preschool programs" that some offered. I taught my children myself as a natural part of our daily lives. I looked for somebody that was nurturing and responsible.

good child care is when you pick up your kid and they are not trembling or when you drop them off they don't go nuts and look for sharp objects
that's a good sign also if the kids are healthy and not bleeding profusely
