I've been considering getting my PHD and teaching at the college level. I've noticed a lot of credible colleges (those who also have a strong offline presence) offering online MBA programs but does anyone know of colleges (not just with a online presence) offerring online PHD programs?

I am currently a high school junior, deciding if I should focus more on extracurricular academics and its benefits for college prep, or swimming for a partial scholarship in college. I am quite sure I can attain a swimming scholarship, but only if I train hard enough for the next two years (and I am motivated to do it). I appreciate knowledge and wisdom very well, but reality is, I can only swim for perhaps 10 more years, but I can learn anything after that. So, should I risk academics for training?

I am graduating this year from collge. I am deciding which program to apply. My dream school is Stanford. But each person is only allowed to apply for one program. I am a math major. I wonder which one is easier to get in, the master's program or the ph.D? The Ph.d is tuition free( you get grant as long as you get admited), but it takes 5 years. The masters is 1.5 years and costs around $40,000. Do most grad students prefer ph.D programs? Does a ph.D guarantee a good career? I am confused. Give me some opinions. Thanks!

My school requires that i make it into the Rad Tech program that Harbor UCLA has for Rad Tech major. What i am scared most is that each year only 12 students are accepted and my campus is filled with hundreds of Rad tech major. Is there any other path i could take if i don't make it into the program? how do i improve my chance of getting in? i've tried getting good grades but it seems that i still get Bs and not all A's.

I am a Student at a community college and I want to succesffully transfer to one of four schools for the undergrad business program for Fall 2008 admission:

McIntyre School of Commerce at UVA
Wharton School of Business at UPENN
Haas Business School at UCLA Berkley
University of Michgan at Ann Arbor

I am a different kind of student who did not go to school beyond the 4th grade, currently have a GPA of 3.88 / 4.0, Member of Phi Theta Kappa, and lots of work experience. I am 26 years old.

I would like some advice on how I can be the most competitive for admission to these top schools when I am competing with Valedictorians and the cream of the crop across the nation.

I would be grateful for all advice, especially from someone who is/was on the admission committee, current/former students, and anyone else.

This means alot for me and I have sacrificed everything to concentrate on this while working a full time job and taking a 16 credits per semester.

Thank you

What would you call these majors. I'm not quite sure and what would be the best colleges for this in Texas? I have a few in mind yet I can't quite tell if they have these majors. I've learned some so far and I enjoy it alot, I can completely see myself in either career if not both.

Math has always been a rough subject for me. I flunked out of my Math class during the middle of last year. For the last two semesters, I did very well in the Intermediate Algebra class they put me in, and got a 92 on the final. This year (I am a Junior in high school) I am struggling in Advanced Algebra & Trig (may be in the low 70's, high 60's) It's only October so I will try my best to turn it around. Anyway, I am obsessed with science and I do well in it, (High 80's-Mid 90's). If I do badly-mediocre at math for the rest of high school, are my chances of being accepted to a science school drastically decreased? It's rather upsetting that I love science so much, and that I just suck at math.

I want a religious affiliated school in California, that is private of course, or at least has a small number of students, can be in Northern or Southern California, preferably not in Los Angeles or in an area like the OC where girls fit that sort of stereotype. I like small atmospheres, beautiful campus, and near a body of water (Pacific) if possible. Cities I have enjoyed include Santa Barbara, San Diego, and San Francisco.
Give me some names of colleges that fit my description.

I live in a very small town (The pop. is around 1,000) and I'm in the college searching mode. I'm a junior in high school, so I'm not rushing, but, I'm thinking a lot about it.
But, I was wondering what people thought of going to a huge school after they leave their itty bitty town.

So, I'm stuck on if I should go to a small or huge school if I live in a rural place.

Thank you :]
