I am a junior in high school right now.
Next year, during my senior year, I will take an SAT prep course. So I guess I will apply to college sometime during my senior year. Does this sound right to you?
Is this how most people do it?
Please don't tell me to see my guidance counselor, because I go to a really small school and we don't have one.
Please help me.

Like, one year for an IT certificate, or a Xray technician program. What's the one year cost?

By school I mean a community college, technical school, etc.
Was it worth the time and effort? Were you able to find a career doing something you truly enjoy?

I'm considering doing this next year. I just haven't decided what to study.

I'm torn between so many majors for college. I would love to be a french teacher, french translator, be a fashion designer, be an economist, OR I want to study penguins in Antartica.

Thanks for CollegeBoard.com, here are some majors that tickle my fancy [but not them all]:
Animal Behavior/Ethology, Animal Genetics, Animal Physiology, Art Teacher Education, Arts - General, Biology, Commercial Photography, Commercial/Advertising Art, Design/Visual Communications, Digital art, Drawing, Ecology, Economics, Environmental Biology, European History, Fashion Design, Fashion Merchandising, Foreign Language & Literature - General, Foreign Language Teacher Education, French, French Teacher Education, Humanities, Photography, Sociology, and Zoology.

Which career should I choose?
Which major will bring me closer to my dream career?
Which is the most realistic?

Please help!

Everyone is telling me that it doesn't matter what you major in to become a lawyer. But I just keep thinking, if a corporate lawyer is involved in business related issues, wouldn't I need to take some business courses to get an idea of what its like?

Any ideas of where i should apply? (both liberal arts college and university)

I'm an international student- non US citizen, and my SAT score is around 1800s (the first time i took it) and i'm taking it again in oct. n also taking SAT IIs in nov.
english isn't my first language, i speak english, thai, chinese, taiwanese fluenly and a bit french. i'm in two varsity sports, basketball and soccer- i play piano and flute, and i'm involved in clubs and activities. This is my 4th year in the student government, and i was elected as a treasurer before. My GPA is around 3.85, and by the time of graduation, i would've taken 7 AP courses- and i'm also an ap scholar with distinction.

Im not very sure of what i want to study, maybe engineering, but not sure yet- that's why i'm considering liberal arts college too. And i'm looking for scholarships and financial aid too.

Any suggestions and ideas of where i should apply?

THANKS

Hello everyone! I would like to be a high school teacher but I don't know if it's "enough" to earn online degrees in History and Education for that. As a transfer student, it would be easier to go to online college but do you think online degrees can be equally accepted?

Please tell me about the general cost and quality of education. I am thinking of obtaining BA degree throuhg online universities but still skeptical about it. Are they really accredited schools? (like Phenex, St. Leo, AIU) Any tips on picking the school to attend? I have AA degree and looking into getting a degree in Business HR or Business in Healthcare BA. Should I consider attending classes from locan university at night instead of online? (I work full-time during the day)

I had an argument with my mom earlier today, let's just say I feel like crap and a little depressed from what she said about me.

Anyway. I want to volunteer some before I apply for graduate school (PsyD preferably) because I think they'll take that into consideration. I have an average GPA, not outstanding all on its own. (3.34 acculm and a 3.1 in Psychology, joining the Psi Chi chapter of the school involving Psychology). My mom said that all the school wants is to give students to places to "work them like dogs and treat them poorly" and that me applying for volunteering won't help me one bit, that schools look for GPA and if you have $$$.

I've volunteered 200+ hours in a hospital for high school, as a requirement for an engineering program I was in. I had decent grades and got into a state school. My mom likes to rub in how my friend took honors classes and now goes to a UC (I go to a CSU) and how she never did any volunteering and look where that got her.

I really need some help on this one.. so please tell me what you would do in this situation.

I am a junior in high school, I am in all honors classes and 1 AP class-- I have a 4.3 GPA-- and I want to major in Computer Science at a college in New York state. The problem is that in ever good college in NY, and even the not so great ones, require Physics and/or Chemistry. At my high school they put me on the Integrated Science Track, so Physics and Chemistry are not a part of my curriculum. I emailed one school and they said that I HAVE to take thoses classes in order to be admitted into their program.
If I can not get into a good college for computer science would I have to find a new major?
I am going to talk to my guidance councelor as soon as I can to see what I can do, but if I can not do anything.. what would you do in my situation?

Thank you.

I have a 4.17 GPA, a score of 2030 on my SAT, a 30 on the ACT, a 750 on SAT2 Math2, and a 760 on the SAT2 Spanish. I am currently a senior and am enrolled in 3 AP's. I have taken the AP Spanish test (5) and the AP Bio test (3). I plan to take 3 AP tests at the end of the year. I am involved in the MEChA club, tutor, work for 16 hours a weeks, and an altar server at my church. So, that's pretty much it. Oh, and I'm mexican, if that counts for anything.

I'm thinking that I want to be a teacher, although I don't really know of what subject. It could be math, English, Spanish, maybe even physics. Does any particular UC have a better program for alumni aspiring to go into the field of education? Also, what are the main "focuses" of the following UCs? Like, what are they known for? (Ex: Berkeley, engineering)

UCLA
UCSD
UCI
UCSB
UCR

Thanks :)
