I've always hated history but I've also had books that were EASY for me to understand tho. Now I just started college this week and my book is the most boring book ever. How do I keep intrested and get a lot out of this class? Whats a good way to take notes during a long boring lecture(its a 2 hr class) ?

I am 25, single with no children. I have never been in college. I currently work for a small bank in my area in their loan operations department. I know that I could start taking some evening classes while I work, but the degree I want from the school I want it from only offers the classes I need in the daytime. I would love to quit working and go to school full time, if financial aid allows. (just like any other freshman would) Since my current career will NOT help me toward the career I am trying to obtain by getting my degree, would it be smart to go to school full time (since I'd have to quit my job to take the daytime classes needed for my degree) or do I just have to accept the fact that the time I now long for has come and gone?

I DESPERATELY want to go to Hilbert Colllege, located in Hamburg New York. It's perfect for me in almost everyway.. but! it's a private - catholic college. I am far from catholic. They didn't say anything on their application or website about having to take a religion course. Do you think that I would have to take some catholic - church - relgious class? Because then I have to re-consider schools.

Okay, so...I've been searching for colleges and I would like to become a vet. I heard that I need to get my Vet Tech or Vet Assistance degree first then go to a real veterinary school. I'm guessing Vet Tech and Vet Assistance are the same? Well, I was looking into JU here in Florida and the offer a program called "Pre-Veterinary Medicine". What is the difference between this and the two others I mentioned? I just don't get it...

Thanks!!!

i'm in college right now, i'm geting my certification as a EMT-B soon. idk if i want to continue though, can't decide if i want to go all the way to paramedic. or even start emt-intermediate

but anyways, i know i'll atleast be completeling my emt-b training.;

So, i'm planing on going to med shcool, how will that look on my transcript? i know the competition is stiff...one of the stats of a med school i list shows....

something around....

6000 students apply
400 are interviewed
only 100 accepted.

so yea....obviously being a emt will help me get in. but compared to the other competition. how will i stand out????

It's my first semester in a community college and already I'm in trouble. The english 1 class I am taking requires that I have no missing work in order to pass. Well, because of work and my stupidity, I forgot to turn in a paper. Now there's no way I can pass even with a C, since all your papers have to be accepted and I'm missing one.
So, this isn't even my real college. I'm just trying to get my basics here and then I'll transfer into a four year college in two years. So should I drop the class? Or just flunk out with an F and try again next semester or over the summer?

I've grown quite interested in politics, world issues, conflict resolution Etc. In a few years i would like to work with something along these lines. I wanna be part of an organization that solves issues like if there is a civil war, how do we stop it? what do we do with the refugees, the homeless, the poor, the dying Etc.? Like the current event in Sudan and all the people that are forced to flee into the neighboring country, Chad. I wanna know how to stabilize a nation, get people back on their feet, establish the right government. Etc. (I know that was very vague, but you get the idea right?)

Problem is, i don't know where to begin. I'm about to start university, which courses should i take that would enable me to do this in a couple of years?

Hvae you ever been to university or are in uni and feel that one of your lecturers doesnt like you, perhaps deliberately failing your work. Do you think lecturers can take a personal dislike to someone?

I am a full time student (14 units) studying electrical engineering. This is my third year in school and so far the hardest semester. I work at Costco Wholesale and they schedule me 35 hours a week (5 days a week). I have time for hw but I have no life anymore and I am always busy and stressing out. When it comes to for midterms I dont really have enough time to study. The pay there is great. Should I quit my job? I am gonna be poor if I do.

Does it help you learn the material better? Or do people focus better in class when they don't record anything and have more pressure to learn the material now rather than later? Some of them are 3 hours long- I don't have the time to attend class and then go back and review it again for a total of 6 hrs. for one class. But then it's nice to be able to go back to missed points.

I have never recorded lectures but I'm thinking of starting. What are some good recorders? Have you tried using a cell phone?
