I want to go to graduate school and get my masters. I got my degree in English, but do not want to get my masters in that. Can you veer off and do something different in graduate school?

Sure can. I got my BS in Math and my Masters in Business Administration.

You may need to take some prerequisite courses, but other than there's no reason not to apply. Just cause you don't enjoy your major like you used shouldn't stop you from pursuing what you really enjoy.

You can get your graduate degree in a different field, but it also depends on what grad school you are applying for, some are more lenient than others.

Yes.

On your application you may need to show your interest and experience in the subject you are planning to study.
