2 years of German and 2 years of Spanish, or 3 years of German and 1 year of Spanish?

probably 3 years of german and 1 year of spanish. or better yet, 4 years of the same language. colleges want to see that you've stuck to one thing, and sticking to one language for all 4 years of high school (or as long as possible) is quite impressive.

Unless you are declaring a major in either German or Spanish, I don't think they would consider there to be much of a difference.

The admissions board would just note that you had 4 years of foreign language.

In college you will also probably be require to take a foreign language as well so the more comfortable you are with one specific language the better chance you have of testing out of one or more semester of coursework. I would try to stick with one language if possible.
