Yes, a high school diploma or GED certificate represents completion of secondary school.

The GED certificate represents an alternative to grade 12 completion and is generally considered slightly lesser to a high school diploma even though it is intended to be equal.

If you have completed the secondary level of education wherever you're from, you may answer that you have completed high school.

They want to know if you went 12 years through high school and crossed the stage for a diploma or dropped out and went to a technical college or somewhere to get the equivalent degree. General Equivalency Diploma (or it could be General Educational Development) but the first is more common.

A ged is an alternative to a regular high school diploma. For example, if someone dropped out of school, they may get there ged, so they will still be able to say they have a high school education.

I believe it stands for "general equivalency diploma," meaning you have the equivalent (equal) of a high school diploma without having graduated from a traditional high school. Perhaps people ask you this because your writing skills are so poor.
