OMG, we really look identical (the yahoo picture) and I'm stuck in a similiar situation as you, except my class is philosophy. How I keep from falling asleep during discussions on Socrates, is that I drink 3 cups of coffee beforehand... however, the coffee is something I would drink even if the class was fun.
These kind of classes are where your talents as a daydreamer should come alive... what I tend to do is notice the surroundings of the class- the students, the wall, the curtains, what the professor is wearing, but that really kills only 20 minutes of class.
A second method of staying "alive and alert" in class is to open up the textbook while the teacher is lecturing. By doing this, and thumbing through a good 10 pages, you keep your stimuli aware, and at the same time, its a good chance to review the book. This will kill another 15 minutes of class.
Note-taking, but with lots of colorful pens, highlighters, artistic headings, this will enliven the spirit during dull class moments. As we are aware, ART is a subconscious way to keep our souls enlightened. This method of note-taking should occupy most the class time (inbetween text book shuffling and daydreaming).
Finally, after all is well and done, I start planning my dinner (in my head) usually, it is what style of sandwich I want created at the local Subway restaurant. Hmmm, wheat or Italian cheese bread? Pickles and olives? To toast or not to toast the bread? Swiss cheese or Pepperjack? By doing this, planning your menu, another 8 minutes should be killed.
The overall concept is to kill time along with receiving education... once you have mastered this, you are on your way, grasshopper!

This is a little unconventional and will require a little work on your part. But look up the major themes that the lecture will be covering and read up before class. If you know the basics of the material before sitting through the lecture you'll be able to ask questions and connect what the professor is saying in your head. But even reading up on Wikipedia and then listening to the lectures is better than sleeping through class and not reading the book. Besides, by reading up on your own you'll find some quirky things that make the period interesting. Good Luck.

Getting a good grade should be the incentive to keep interested and take notes in the class. I would think of that every time I felt like going to sleep or daydreaming. Hope that helps.

TYPE YOUR BUTT OFF. it keeps you from having to write everything which is tiring in itself. play a bit of solitaire between notes. sit in the back with your ipod under your hoody and listen to music during quiet periods. my favorite thing is drawing. even if you cant get away with anything else as long as they see your pencil moving i doubt youll get in trouble. those asre the only things i can think of. You could also do a lil wake and bake lol. things are always more fun in "that" state of mind ;)

Don't think of it as boring, try to listen and understand what there talking about. Whenever I had that problem I learned to appreciate the subject and tried to interest myself to the best of my ability.

Keep whispering to yourself that it's only one class, that college is only 4 years, and that doing well will guide your lifestyle for the rest of your life.
