More specifically, I want to go to UC Santa Cruz, but they do not offer a journalism/communications major. Will this hinder my ability to get a job in this field? I am really not quite sure if this is a major I would particularly like, but would probably feel more comfortable in going to UCSC if it's offered. Should I throw out UCSC as a college option?

Ive been asked to calculate operating ratios under ratio analysis in accounting. I think the formula is cost of sales + operating expenses / sales. Please correct me if im wrong. the problem is ive also been given number of employees for each year and my lecturer said i need to take them into consideration when calculating it. How do i calculate it? do i just stick to that formula or is it wrong? do i only take the no of employees into consideration when analysing the ratios after calculating it. A good answer will be extremely helpful. Thanks

I always thought that you first completed your Bachelors, then your Masters, then your PhD, is this not right? Can you do your PhD before your Masters? What are the benefits to each program, and which order should a person complete them? I am about to graduate with my Bachelors in communications and business, and I eventualy want to be a professor, how should I go about this?
Also, side question, if I have a few credible internships, is it ok to go straight into a MBA program or PhD?
THANKS!

I really love childbirth, it amazes me. I want to become an obstetrician or find a way to be a part of deliveries. I know that it iwll be a lot of work and time and I am prepared for that. The only thing that is stopping me is that I did somewhat poor in high school. Only because I chose not to do my work. I have changed completely since then. I don't believe that with my high school transcript that I can get into a decent 4 year college. I need to find a way to get this done. I don't mind starting out at a community college but I was wondering if there were other ways or programs that can get me directly into the field. Like training or what not. Anyone that could help me would be greatly appreciated!

I want to research DNA when I get older. What does this specific gene do? Where in the genetic strand will I find the deciding factor for the mole on my calf? Stuff like that. The problem with all of this is that when I look at all the different majors available there is stuff like Plant Genetics, Biogenetics, Genetics, etc... It is all way too confusing. I just want to research DNA. Is that too much to ask for? I am still in high school, but I want a head start on all of it. Does anybody know a major that I can work towards that will let me research DNA?
