I have heard people say that getting a degree at University could actually make you less employable...?! Is this true? Won't you get a better job if you have a degree rather than just a national diploma?
Do you think it is worthwhile to go for a degree with honours, in fashion design?

i am really struggling with choosing a college that is right for me. Should I go straight into a 4 year university or should i do the 2 years at a jc and then go to a university? Here's a little bit about me:

3.71 overall GPA weighted, 3.55 unweighted
700 SAT verbal / 720 math
founder of non-profit organization
varsity tennis player
student government / student body president
band all 4 years / section leader

and here are the schools i plan on applying to:
Stanford
UC Berkeley
UCLA
USC
UC Davis
USF
UC Santa Barbara
UC San Diego
Harvard
Princeton

I'm basically just going to apply everywhere.

How do I decide if I should go to 4 year or a JC?

Do I have a chance to get in to these places?

Oh and I'm thinking of majoring in Biology.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks :)

I'm considering going back to school to become an ultrasound technician since in Detroit the only field that's even hiring is the medical field.

I've been searching relentlessly for schools and community colleges that offer courses but there don't seem to be any in the metro Detroit area. I don't see any courses for ultrasound, just radiology and I don't want to be an X-ray tech. Am I looking in the wrong places? Thanks!

My boyfriend is leaving for college on the 18th of August. He'll be in a dorm with two of his best friends, they are two of my good friends also. I'm going to a community college so I dont get experience the dorm thing yet. What are some necessities in a dorm that I can include in a care package for them. Wht are little things that college students always need? I always get the answer raman noodles...which I can send. But one of his roomates father is a chef and so he knows how to cook, so I dont want to send too much of that stuff. I'm hoping some college graduates for current students can help me. What do you need and always find yourself in a lack of? Please help! I want to send them things they all need. Thank you!

I am planning to be a Family Doctor and I want to know which colleges have the best premed course and that I have a decent shot of getting into. I have a 4.0 GPA, 3rd in my class, 1750 SAT (1210 combined), participate in Track & Field, Basketball, National Honor Society, FBLA, Mu Alpha Theta, Diversity Council. I have been Student of the Month and received many other awards such as Who's Who. I take all AP and Advance classes available. What are my chances for Lehigh University, UPenn, Carniege Mellon, Haverford, and Penn State University Park? If there are any other good colleges please let me know.

The reason I ask for such a question is because when I look up high school reviews, at some good schools I can often find their information on what colleges their students get into, while others don't even mention it at all. So, does it mean you have to be in a good famous high school in order to get into a good college or famous college? Will there be high chances for students in good high schools or it doesn't really matter?

Thanks in advance.

I'm working toward a BSBA right now, and I'm thinking about concentrating in Finance. I've heard that for a finance mba, though, a lot of math is needed. I was wondering if a math minor would be good prep.
