What is Leadership? Is there a difference between leadership and management? What are the differences, if any?

I'm currently an undergrad majoring in Chemistry and English. The university I'm at, while a tier one school, is very focused on science and technology. The humanities departments are small tend to get the shaft.

What I'm really interested in is History and Philosophy of Science, but unlike most of the other places I applied my school doesn't offer that as a major. The philosophy department focuses almost entirely on logic, and the history deaprtment is mostly geared toward poli-sci. The English department, on the other hand, has quite a few faculty who have done work in science and literature. Because an English major would allow me to do the most coursework in science and culture, that's what I chose.

I've seen a few places that offer graduate studies in History and Philosophy of science. Could I still enter that field with my English/Science background, or would I be restricted to just English or Chemistry?

Lets say that I graduated with a 4 year degree from University of Iowa, and I decide that I want to do Business. Do I apply to the University of Iowa's School of Business? What If I want to be a doctor? Do I stay at the University so that I can take the classes that are needed for Medical School. Basically, what is Graduate School. Is it when you graduate, then reapply under a certain major that is needed for certain job skills? Is it still that If I am still at the same University as my pre-graduated classes. Do I graduate then reapply to the Univertsity if I want to stay there for my graduate classes?

i took my SATz in jan this yr and im a junior so im trynna figure out whether i shud take them again in june or not.
im kinda set on goin to a community college in massachussetts(MA) for an associates in nursing, probably middlesex comm. im not sure if my scores are good enough. but also i have heard that u can use the same scores upto 5yrs later for other colleges. which i plan to do when i go back to a good 4yr college for a bachelors in fashion design which will need higher SAT scores.

my scores:
critical reading- 490
math- 430
writing- 550
multi choice- 54
essay- 8

so are these scores good enough for both colleges (community and 4yr colleges)
and my GPA at the time is a B- or 2.7 which im trynna get up to atleast a 3.0
im also getting a job starting this summer and i volunteer around the community .
Do you think i can get into these colleges without taking the SATz again.
help me with some advise or knowledge on this.
plzzz and thankyou!!!

I've lived in Orange County all my life & want change. If I go to UCI, I'll dorm one year and save money and live at home for the remaining 3 years. I'd have to borrow $4,500. At UCSD, I'd have to borrow a total of $18,000 for the four years of college in addition to working.

I really want to move out of Pennsylvania but for the past six months I can barely get a phone interview in other states. When I follow up I keep getting told they prefer to hire locally, within their state etc... I don't want to quit and move with no job in sight - assistant/associate/registrar's at colleges aren't easy to find. Ideas??

Why is it that MDs are called Doctor, DDSs are called Doctor, PhDs are called Doctor... yet every lawyer I have known (despite having a doctorate) is called Mr. or Mrs. unless they are university/college professors. This is true even on the legal shows on TV. Why is this? They do deserve the title...they spend long enough in school, too.

I actually believe high school students would benefit from this. However, what surprises me is the sheer amount of college students who have no idea what simple logical fallacies are or how to avoid them.

Let's say I make this statement, "All lions are mammals. Mammals are animals, therefore lions are animals." They'd believe a statement like that was the exact same as "All mammals are lions or all animals are mammals!" This wouldn't bother me as much if I was surrounded by 10 year olds. However, this was in college, with adults who would soon face the world!

This example is similar to many real life experiences I had during discussions in college. Should schools make the students learn about logic, fallacies, etc? Should adults even value logical thought?

I have been admitted to Albany law school's fulltime day program and Seton Hall's evening program. Should I attend Seton Hall's program (because it is the better school) and hope to transfer to their day program after a year? Or should I go to Albany? I do NOT want to go through an evening program for four years...if I went to SH's evening program I would fully intend on transfering to their day program. I just don't know how difficult that is....please offer advice...Thanks!
