How did each of the following have an effect on the American worker during the second Industrial revolution (1865-early 1900s)? (I put my own answers following the topic, and so please feel free to correct or improve me on any point; thank you! I appreciate any info or suggestion, really, I do :)

1. Technological changes:
-advanced technogoly/ machinery means less of a need for workers.

2. immigration:
-an in crease in immigrants reduced worker's pay and took jobs away.

3. Labor Unions:
-labor unions contributed to the rise against trusts and the demand/ acknowledgment of the need for skilled workers.

4. Government Action:
- the federal government made and passed laws affecting the work force in America mainly through immigration laws. (?)

Once again, any criticism/suggestion helps. Thanks!

I was thinking of applying to American as well as Canadian graduate schools in order to do a Master's degree in English literature. Not sure if US grad schools accept Canadian applicants equally or favor US citizens. Can anyone offer some info on this? I dont want to waste money and time on applying for nothing to the USA. : )

I have to do an internship class at my college during the summer, but if I am not able to go to campus during summer then I have to do the class online, but I have to stay with my grandma and she does not have a computer or the internet, and my family was living in a house, but there was a fire in the house in 2001 and I had checked some books out from the library and they were lost in the fire, so now the library says I still have to pay for those books or I can't check out any more or use the computers, and I can't afford to pay. So how can I access the internet to do the class online? Also, they will probably charge me for the class if I take it during summer, and I can't get financial aid for the summer, so I will be unable to pay. I also do not have an internship yet and I NEED something!!! I am running out of time and I am really scared. I am in Maryland and I guess I just need an internship that involves writing in some way...

I have trouble staying focused on studying once I begin. (As you can see by my writing oh this question, haha) I look away from my task every couple minutes and I can't seem to keep my mind on one thing, or I can't keep reading what i'm supposed to be reading. I feel that this is something I can fix myself, and that it is NOT something a tutor could help me with. I just need motivation. Any suggestions?

I have a serious problem on my GPA. I'm a junior in high school and right now my GPA is 2.6. I want to attend an UC school and I know its a long shot. I been studying the SAT for a long time and taking the test on May hoping reaching higher than 1800. I didn't do much extra activity for school but I'm in a track team. Is there still a chance or a maybe a little can i go to UC?

Thank you.... Explain please.

I am just an average student with a 3.4-3.5 GPA. I will be graduating in May, and will be taking a year off. I know that the best time to take the LSATs is December 07, so I can enter law school in Fall 08.

Do you guys think that 9 months is enough time to study for LSATs? I can devote up to one hour each day for the 9 months on average.

I am also planning on taking a Princeton Review course. This, along with my philosophy major, I feel should prepare me for the LSATs.

Also, which course do you guys think is better? LSATs, Kaplan or a different kind?

it's very important to me to have access to professors, an engaged ommunity of learners and enthusiastic people.
i also want to go to grad school, for what i'm not sure, probably public policy or politics.

I don't consider going to community college even I know its good for me, but I want to go to UC straight. I wonder can i get to an UC school with a certain test score or any chance? Please tell me... thanks!

Have you ever gone to college, graduated, and then realized you don't like what you went to school for and wish you did something else? I am studying Business Marketing but I am not sure I have passion for that. What bothers me the most is I am not sure I have passion and am pretty sure people have passion to find their calling in life. What do you think?? What was your experience, good or bad???

I heard that the number of AP classes and the overall strength of your curriculum are the most important deciding factors. I wanted to know if thats true. I applied to UC Berkeley. I go to an independant study school in a disadvantaged district 15 mins from Berkeley. I petitioned and fought for AP classes in my Junior year and now we have AP's at my school ( due to my efforts). I'm taking 2 now. I have taken 3 semesters of college spanish and 1 semester college chem ( all transferable) at a comm college. I've completed many of my grad requirements at the same community college. I got an 1840 SAT 650 SATII Lit 640 SATII Chem and have played select soccer for 10yrs and danced for 6. I have been an intern at a wildife museum(i now work there as a supervisor/animal keeper) and at the marine science institute . I have also worked as a chem tutor. Do I still have a good chance of getting in?

My friend and i were talking about circumcision and we both agreed that it looks much nicer when a guy is but can you actually feel the difference when you have sex? We both agreed it is the same, circumcised or not, with a condom on but we could not agree about if the skin made any difference without a condom
