I have a serious problem on my GPA. I'm a junior in high school and right now my GPA is 2.6. I want to attend an UC school and I know its a long shot. I been studying the SAT for a long time and taking the test on May hoping reaching higher than 1800. I didn't do much extra activity for school but I'm in a track team. Is there still a chance or a maybe a little can i go to UC?

Thank you.... Explain please.

That's pretty low. You're a good bit under the minimum of 3.0 and you don't have a high SAT score to counter it. Almost no extra currics.

I really doubt you have much of a chance to be honest.

If you insist on a UC, just go to a CC and then transfer after a couple of years.

I hope very much you will succeed in your goal but i feel that by Only studying the SAT you are not helping yourself as much as you can- if you gave as much time and energy (as your note indicates) to your regular studies as you are doing for the SAT you would have a better chance over all.

the other thing is - the competition for the UC schools is REALLY tough. why not get yourself a head start- first from here on out pull up those grades!

then after graduation find the NEAREST city college. (dont cringe, there is method to my madness) If you live at home and hopefully dont have to work outside to survive- you can get your AA in two yrs

the classes needed for your AA are the SAME undergraduate work you would be doing at a UC school. so when you THEN apply at your preferred UC you have 2yrs AND an AA with GOOD grades. you will have a MUCH BETTER chance of getting in your university of choice.

i hope you will think about it. and yes it will take hard work. what? you think a UC would be easy???

seriously good luck and hope all goes well

Maybe you should have thought about this earlier and not try to just barely get by at the last minute. Keep trying harder and you will get in somewhere but you better get that GPA up because that matters quite a bit.

If your GPA is lower than their requirements, and you are not a minority, sorry, no chance.
