How did each of the following have an effect on the American worker during the second Industrial revolution (1865-early 1900s)? (I put my own answers following the topic, and so please feel free to correct or improve me on any point; thank you! I appreciate any info or suggestion, really, I do :)

1. Technological changes:
-advanced technogoly/ machinery means less of a need for workers.

2. immigration:
-an in crease in immigrants reduced worker's pay and took jobs away.

3. Labor Unions:
-labor unions contributed to the rise against trusts and the demand/ acknowledgment of the need for skilled workers.

remember the time frame - this was just after the Civil War and America was rebuilding itself from within. Technology was running away with new inventions weekly, some good some silly.
1. The advent of the Engine, steam loco and gas was being delvep at this time. This created more jobs. Technology created the automated factories, which increased production and created more jobs. (however there was a job shift from hand made goods to machine made.)
2. increase in immigration created a bloat of workers at the manually labor jobs. The higher (class) immigrate generally opened shops with assistance from local friends and relatives. However the rate of Immigration fluctuates every ten years due to global conditions.
3. Not certain what you are saying here.
Labor Unions in the beginning helped protect the workers from bad work conditions, unfair labor rules, (like 14 hour days in sweatshops), helped in the protection of child labor abuse.
Different Unions work with different skills (even today) so the statement "acknowledgment of the need for skilled workers." does not really apply. There has always been acknowledgment of the skilled workers. even when they build the pyramids.
