I am officer in a club for 2 years now, and this club built city floats and won trophies. I played football and now am doing track. I have won awards in football and track. I'm not going to play football next year, but maybe senior year. I will run track next year and senior year. I also have about 80 community service hours, where I volunteered cleaning in the mountains and where I built these floats. I am running for an ASB position and I think I will make it. I have taken 1 honors course, and I will probably take 1-3 AP classes next year and honors pre-calculus. I will also work and take summer school this summer. Where should I go to college?

Does anyone have any experience with leaving a PhD program with a masters? I would be leaving of my own volition because I feel like maybe I would be happier in a different setting- not asked to leave. Assuming I want some sort of career in academia, and to further pursue a PhD, how damaging is it to leave with a masters? In reapplying for a PhD program would I be limited in the caliber of programs that would accept me?

Which should I do to get the most college credit/hours and what is a semester hour because dual credit courses offered at my school cost $50 per semester hour and I do not know what that is. Also, will prestigious colleges in state accept dual credit courses taken during high school for example UT, Texas A&M, Baylor, etc.? Thanks I am very confused about all of this and I have to register for classes for next year pretty soon. I will be a junior next year.

do you think it's better to go to a prestigious school, even if it means filling up your high school schedule with hard classes, and trying to excel in extra-curricular activities...

.......or do you think it's better to go to an pretty good school (aka 60%+ acceptance rate), do well, and have a more relaxed high school life?

right now i'm on the prestige track..but i'm experiencing burnout or something and I really don't feel up for doing homework all my life for the next two years. I mean, are prestigious schools REALLY that important?

I know people who are on both ends of the spectrum- some who are on that track and are definitely not veering off, and some who just live each day as it is (but they still are successful, if that makes any sense).

any thoughts?

Ok, since i was a kid, i have been dreaming of going to the us naval academy and becoming a naval officer...

I'm a sophomore in high school...taking all AP/IB classes...
- I have gotten straight A's thru-out high school. (~4.15 gpa)
- two varsity sports freshman year and this year
- formed a club
-nat'l honor society member
-I have a sectional ranking in tennis...top 20 in state
-have a job,
-volunteered a lot
- IB diploma
HOWEVER, i got expelled from my old high school after freshman year for something stupid..(not serious, like assault, weapons, or anything)

Honestly, do i have a chance at getting into the US Naval Academy; provided I have decent SAT scores, and continue w/ sports...

thanks for your time!

I'm figuring out my schedule for my jounior year in high school and i can start taking college classes. I plan to take two, one at my high school and a night classe at the college, my school also allows students to be a sport trainer and help with the injuries of the young athletes. I simply won't have time to do both! Which one should I choose. Should i drop the college and be a trainer or should I volunteer at the local hospital in my spare time. What does top colleges look at more. What would you do? Thanks for the advice!
