I have a Bachelor of Arts degree from a University in Alberta, Canada, with a major in Sociology.?

Are my credentials transferrable to the United States at all? Would an employer there recognize my degree?

yes and yes! my prof got her degrees in canada and she's told us many times that she's never had a problem.
