IIM has a reputation and that is why students prefer it.
Other best reputed institution is IIT, they are also having good management programmes.
Apart from these two,i.e. IIM & IIT,
BIRLA INST.OF MANAGEMENT,
DHIRUBHAI AMBANI INSTITUTE,
NIRMA
XLRI
JAMANALAL BAJAJ
S.P.JAIN
SYMBIOSYS etc.etc there are many.
To get admission you will have to pass enterence exams.
If you want to do it by corrosp. IGNOU & SIKKIM MANIPAL universities are good.
After all it depends upon a student ,because syllabus is almost same everywhere.
