Bill Gates is apparently slated for an honorary degree from Harvard in June. Other famous or "important" people have received honorary degrees based on something other than their academic effort. What do you all think about this? Is it fair? Should it be stopped? Should it increase? Thanks for your time.

I'm currently studying at university and I have no interest in my studies at all!

People around me keep telling me that its better to get a degree, that I will be able to find a better job in the future. I know that they mean well for me but I don't have any motivation to study at all. I feel so stressed and depressed all the time, even cry myself to sleep on certain days. My grades are really lousy these days....

Should I quit school , start working and make myself happier?

Hi, I'd like to know how true is the following:
Is it true that International students who will be paying high tuition fees will be accepted almost all graduate schools they apply to? Even in top-notch universities like Harvard, Berkeley, Michigan?

I realize it ranges among schools, but to get into a decent Master's program, what do you realistically need as far as GRE/GPA? What if you overall GPA is a 3.2, but your final 60 hours is a 3.6? Do many schools look at the final 60?

My points: although university teaches you, but I think it doesn't do it to the maximum, even I think, for all the materials they lecture or gave, it only contribute 10% to your knowledge.

10 pts. for good or detailed answer

I'm a senior specializing in accounting and finance. I'll be graduating in May but there's some tension with one of my course. I'm done with all my accounting and finance courses but this one last accounting class i have. It's the hardest accounting class and I'm not doing so well.

I have to pass this so I can graduate this semester. I'm so stressed out and dont know what to do. I tried speaking to my professor but he's not willing to give me extra credit or anything. I still have final exam to go but honestly I don't think I'm going to do so well. IT'S the HARDEST accounting class and my last one.

Any suggestions. How should I convince this guy to give me a passing grade. I don't have good feelings about the final, its comprehensive...
