My points: although university teaches you, but I think it doesn't do it to the maximum, even I think, for all the materials they lecture or gave, it only contribute 10% to your knowledge.

Okay, you compare ten who have university ed and ten who have'nt: the ten who went thro' 'varsity, took the trouble to do so, spent some years in that atmosphere of learning a few things in life, apart from the bookish, lecturish education -- such as living among others of same age , others plus and minus 2 or 3 or 4 years in the campus, doing activities in and out doors other than reading reading and reading: certainly 4 out of ten would have benefitted a lot from all that! You get my point: to go further, take the ten not so fortunate to go thro' the temple of education, they may have other types of education, not more than 4 out of ten -- when it comes to a responsible job, when you want to select people, young people, naturally you give weightage to the university guys, though, of course, 3 or 4 (out of ten) other guys may be good, too: when you pick from the university guys, selection becomes a bit easy; and, after all, you have to have some yardsticks, some criteria, and university education is among those norms. University education, as such needs improvement, that's another matter: and the youngsters in campus, if they put their mind to it, they have the opportunity to make some thing out of the facilities and lectures available there, as shown by many successful students passing out every year from many universities!

Yes I do believe in a University Education even if it does not help you in the immediate employment market it will further employment prospects in the future and build values of self-esteem and accomplishment lets face it we have a economy where most of the wealth is created by the educated, in one discipline or several disciplines of study

You may change your vocation in life and probably will but a well grounded education will pay dividends for a life time. If you ever think education is not worth the effort look at the people on the Jerry Springer Show, or Judge Judy I venture to say that most of those people did not go far in school. Case and Point.

If you are asking this question here, it sounds like you may have already made up your mind about college... regardless, I like to think of it this way:

I have been going to school at a private university, putting myself almost $80,000 in debt to get a really good job... only to then turn around and pay of this huge debt with the income I make from my good paying job... would I have made it easier on myself by learning a trade instead, only to make a few thousand less per year (which would have gone to debt anyway--and I wouldn't have wasted 5 years of my life trying to 'get the edge' when I could have spent that 5 years actually working up to a high-paid position)?

That, ladies and gentlemen, is the million dollar question...

Sorry to sound so negative, but I do not believe that a university is going to teach you any more than you already know (most of the time it's all repeat information). I almost think it takes more skill to get a job when you don't have a degree to flash around.

believe me im going thru college now but it aint worth it coz i do 100s in most courses but i have to keep my job an hourly job to live on. my hope is that once i graduate i will make better, coz if u gotta that damned paper u get rewarded, sometimes i see folks doin ma same job livin on it having 100k loans or more but they ll make it sooner after grad. its only that versity educ lets u know the world. if u know how to live u dont have to depend on it. when u start workin though u see ppl with degrees makin more but not thinkin far than their nose. theyre dumb but went to school coz family wanted and they doin good now. so i think its worth to suffer today and appreciate it later on. school is only for long term success it gives u no extra to deal with ur life. u gotta live and handle ur life by urself so school is part of what u deal with. it aint gonna teach u much. supppose u graduate in health fields, u gotta take history 101 and 102 as basics though when someone comes in sick at the hosp u aint gonna need the Federalists or Anti-federalists.
thats whats about school, keeps u away from bad ways coz u busy and u dont trip on **** that much and make good on a,long term
