I agree that simply having "a degree" doesn't in any way guarantee you a better job (unless you have a very particular professional degree, such as an accounting or medical degree, in which you're almost guaranteed a job in that field).
What you ARE guaranteed is to have a large student loan debt, if you didn't pay for college outright. We don't know how far along you are in your studies, so if you're one semester from graduating then it would be a waste of money to quit now. On the other hand if you're only in your first year, it will save you a lot of money to drop it now before you get deeply into debt and possibly have a record of failed grades as well.
Working may or may not be the right answer for you. Maybe you'd be happier taking a different degree, or maybe you just really need a break because your stress level is unmanageable. Colleges have guidance departments that are good at helping you to make these sorts of decisions. Go ahead and use them to your advantage, since you've already paid for them.

The reason people go to school is because they either want the experience of a lifetime or they want to find a career (most people look for both). And since neither is on your list, I blieve yes you should drop out. First you have to find a plan though. Without having any sort of plan, you'll regret it for the rest of your life. Think about what you're giving up and if you say youre this depressed why spend thousands of dollars on tuition..... You should start working and make yourself happier. The American dream is about being happy not being rich.

look, that "not everyone is cut out for school" is B.S. from a pat on the back your a star kind of society. you have a capable brain, you have to train it, make it your *****. you have to force yourself to LIKE it. convince yourself you want to do it and you like it.. even if you know you dont, telling yourself you do actualy helps.. just do the work, not being into it is never a reason, its an EXCUSE! you are capable enough to peice together your question you are inteligent enough to go to school and get at least average grades. DO THE WORK, you can do it. its not about being interested its about doing things that YOU HAVE TO DO. you are in school, dont waste the opportunity. just do it! doing things like work, when you obviously arent doing any can help lift you out of the blues. and seeing the improvement in your grades will help that too. if you work you just enter the rat race, at entry level, not a good idea compared to having a degree. let "i like school, i like school work" be your mantra. working wont make you happy, you can make you happy, and you can do the work and get better grades, dont be lazy! get goin! just do it, worry about being happy later, and when you do, you just might be happier already because you made improvement in your life and you are getting smarter and more educated. just do it!

Not all people are cut out for school and contrary to public opinion, not all people benefit from having a degree.
Unless your degree is in the field you hope to work and unless that field is lucrative, go to work and get a head start instead of wasting your time in school.
I am not anti-education...i have an MBA, but that is the field I work in and I enjoy it.

Yes, study is quite stressful, especially when you've loss interest.
Anyway, are you in the final stage of graduation, if so be advised not to give up, proceed to the final or else you will be regreted if you really come to work. As you would aware that
how silly you are by quitting the graduation. Please keep yourself relax and don't pull yourself down. God bless you.

1. If you are in your first year drop your class, talk to your advisor, and change your major.
2. If you are a Junior, you need to bring those grades up and graduate. Also, talk to your school's therapist or your advisor about your issues.
Never quit school, change your major or apply to another school. Get help with your depression. Trust me Seeking Counseling will help you.
One more thing, I failed as a Junior and I had to get out of school quick. So, I looked in the school's catalog and found out how many courses will enable me to graduate the next year. I went to my advisor, he looked at my classes, and told me how many classes I needed to graduate. I changed my major in the last year and I graduated in the same year. I had a lot of credits to do that.
P.S. college students stress, get depress, seek help, and graduate.

Well, it depends on what you want to do in life. If you want to be involved in a successful company that's thriving, then I'd suggest sticking it out (at least you don't have a wife and kid to provide for as well as go to college full time 8-)
However, if you do not plan to really do anything special as far as career goes, then I'd advise that you may want to pull out before you start accumulating more debt.

first of all you must check that what is the reason that you don't have interest in your studies , secondly also do those works which are not in your routine like gardening, painting, handicrafts etc. leaving studies is not solution , rather you should always face difficulties in life it will help you a lot. because luck is never with us we have to be with it. if i were you i would have improved my studies when i know that I'm weak in it not left studies.
