I'm a senior specializing in accounting and finance. I'll be graduating in May but there's some tension with one of my course. I'm done with all my accounting and finance courses but this one last accounting class i have. It's the hardest accounting class and I'm not doing so well.

I have to pass this so I can graduate this semester. I'm so stressed out and dont know what to do. I tried speaking to my professor but he's not willing to give me extra credit or anything. I still have final exam to go but honestly I don't think I'm going to do so well. IT'S the HARDEST accounting class and my last one.

Any suggestions. How should I convince this guy to give me a passing grade. I don't have good feelings about the final, its comprehensive...

I think you have the right idea in approaching your professor, but it would be helpful to change your attitude. Instead of trying to convince him to give you a better grade, ask him for help in doing better in the class. That's what professors like to hear, because that's what they're there for. If he helps you to do better, then you will get a better grade.

How to convince him? Earn it. But how to earn it might be easier said than done.

Many professors won't give extra credit so you have to work even harder to pass the tests. Try looking into tutoring if he's unwilling to help you. Maybe just go in and sit down with him and say "how can I learn this better?" Never go in and tell a professor "I need to pass this class..." That rarely works. How many times do you think they've heard it? I can tell you that it's probably countless.

Some professors know their class is difficult and will curve at the end. Is he one of them?

Utilize every resource you have from learning centers, his office hours, other students who maybe have a better hold of it, do all optional homework, etc. Do what you can to learn the material.

Best of luck!

Sometimes studying does not help because what you are studying is like reading a foreign language. Make an appointment with your professor and ask for help. Tell him what is bothering you. I did this 3 months ago in philosophy (my last semester). Believe it or not, my professor did not understand a few things but he helped me. i stayed in his class for 2 hours and i passed my class with an A. i sat right in the class and the rest is history! (class of 2006)
good luck
P.S. get help in the office too, anyplace that is comfortable

I think the best way in order to convince your professor to give you a better grade and let you pass the final is by "Studying". Prove to your professor that you are fitted to be an accountant......
I do understand that it is hard, but to be a better and successful citizen in the future why not take the challenge, study hard because our grades are to be computed..... our professors are just there to record and compute our scores....... they can't give us a grade just for that instant....
Just be determined that you can pass.......

That's only my suggestion......
