i think with some of the better universitys it will but most only look at a-levels so if you do well in them you should be fine. good luck

Entry requirements for an Engineering course in most universities are any of the following:
1.At least 2GCE A2 levels or an AVCE double award and five GCSEs/GCEs (including English language, Mathematics and a Science subject at a minimum grade C)
2. Exdecel National National Certificate/Diploma in in Engineering, with significant merit profile.
3.degree foundation certificate, access to higher education qualification, or equivalent in engineering.
You are almost ready for University but there are more requirement needed from you. You have a variety of things you may choose to do to qualify for University. You really need the A-levels or the other equivalents. I wish you all the very best.

Why are you only taking 5 GCSE's? I think a university will wonder and have a good look at that, particularly if you wan tot be an engineer. However, if you take and pass 5 A and AS levels they may not consider your GCSE's.

Once you get on past university and into employment, your GCSE's will matter very little.

Hi Kitty,
Don't worry, you are doing the right GCSE courses. The main ones are Maths and English. You will certainly need Maths and English at A level as well as a science subject. Physics would be a good choice. You will need good grades as well.

very best of luck for the future

I would really only stick to 4 AS levels but carry them all on to A2. Any more than that and you really will have too much work to do...trust me, I'm doing 4 at A2 and I have little social life (...: ( guess it's worth it in the end though...).

Saying that, I would do an extra couple of GCSEs if you are going to a college and have the option to do that - you could take an intensive one year course and then they would be finished by the time you move on to A2's.

But ultimately it all depends on what kind of Uni you want to go to...I have aimed really high and I don't think my 8 GCSEs were enough but if you are aiming at middle to low universities you shouldn't have too much of a problem.

Good luck!

No. It doesn't matter for any University I know.

English, maths and the ones related to your degree are the most important.

If you ever plan to do teacher training, sometimes GCSE's matter, but you've covered the bases even for that with your choices anyway.

Why only 5?

Yes, try to do some extra AS' but don't wrap yourself too much in a lot of work.

No, as long as you have 2 good A levels then it doesnt matter
