I'm currently an engineering student at Umass-Lowell and I commute. I'd like to live at school but I find Umass-Lowell to be kind of depressing and I don't really like it there.

What I'm asking is if Umass-Amherst is a suitable school for a quiet, introverted student like me?? I've heard wild stories about the place and people calling it "zoo"-mass. I'd like to get some feedback from students with experience there and I'd like to know if there are lots of people there with personalities like mine??

I was wondering what's the difference between a unofficial transcript and an official one. The unofficial ones that I get shows basically all the classes i took and credits earned throughout my high school years. I requested an official transcript today and got it, but it was inside a envelope and im not allowed to open it. i was just wondering how might the official one differ from the unofficial one.

I'm not sure if i asked this question, does anybody know if it's possible for someone with a business degree to work in the film industry? As for my eduacation background my starting point will be with a g.e.d,credits from phoenix's business management program, then a masters from say a more traditional university?Would i be in competition with other people? Will this increase or decrase my chances of working in the industry?Does effort have anything to do with it?What should i do to get started to work towards this career? All questions and opinions are appreciated, thank you.

I am a freshman at UNH and my major is zoology. All I want to do is play with animals for a living, but so far I don't like the classes that I have to take to get there. I was considering adding a minor in something that I like to at least have some enjoyable classes. Is this a stupid reason to add a minor? I would probably minor in some form of math but I know that I don't want to do anything with math in the future. I just happen to really like math. I am planning on talking this over with my advisor tomorrow but I would like to get some other people opinions on it as well. Just to clarify the question here, I like where my major will get me, I don't like the classes I will take to get there. I know I want to keep my major, but should I add this minor?

Going to a college with more elite students, attending a school because of more to do, and attending a new college because you feel like an outkast of your college and want to start over.

i'm thinking about going back to college to do a degree in Psychology and Criminology in September, this would mean giving up my 22k+ a yr job and becoming a skint student (at 27). i have some credit card debt and a house that i rent on my own but figure that by working part time i will be able to keep paying these payments each month (hopefully). my problem lies in the fact that i would want to do the degree then a masters, possibly on to a phd, which means 7yrs+ back in education. what financial support can i claim for whilst i am back at college so i am able to complete the course and live in general?? i desperately want to do this so i can learn more about the subject and start a career. HELP!! i'm all over the place as i'm wary about it all going wrong.

Any suggestions?
So i'm 20, and thus far in life I have been academically suspended from a university, and now I need a new start. I'm going to a community college to make up some credits, and if i pass them all I can go back to the previous university its so small and highs chool like. The thing is I don't want to go back there, nor do i want to spend another 3 years in college...i'm about 2 years from graduating, and could finish sooner with summer school! I'm considering the military to serve my country while start over, but i know once i do that there is no turning back for four years! any advice?
