If uni isn't teaching you anything then its best not to waste your time.
Parents usually want you to be happy and to pursue your dreams. Tell them your not happy at uni. and have a different dream that doesn't require going to uni. ie become an actor.
Also show them you have given this decision a lot of thought.
There is a surplus of people with uni degrees in the US. A degree doesn't mean much if everyone else has it. You can take a different angle and focus on experience. Learn by doing not by studying.

Tell them that you have no ambition in life, don't want to make money in the future and can't spell simple words like convince. Also, tell them that you don't even know enough to capitalize "I" or that when you make an unnecessary abbreviation such as "uni", just because you can't spell "university", you don't bother to use a period on the abbreviation. If that doesn't work, just flunk a bunch of courses and anger them to the point that they pull you out. Great, so you fixed convince, now you might want to start capitalizing "I". If you can't write at a 5th grade level, maybe you shouldn't be in college.

If you seriously want to drop out, you need to just tell your parents that you are not feeling ready for college at this time, your grades are not at the level of your full potential and you do not even care at this point, your gpa is suffering, and you feel that taking time off to work a job that doesn't pay well and works you to death will make you feel ready for school when the time comes. At which point you will enroll and you will be totally financially dependent on yourself to come up with a way to pay the tution. That was the speech I used and it worked for me. I did go back to school and I am paying for it. My parents agreed it worked out for the best because working minimum wage and busting my *** for next to nothing made me see why college is beneficial.

just tell them that you will get a job with the Taco Bell corporation, you should be able to work yourself to manager some day, then you will be making the big bux.
look do yourself a favor, stay in school, if you need to change your major, find out what you really want to do in life. perhaps the studies you are taking are not really what you are in to. don't do it.
