I was wondering what's the difference between a unofficial transcript and an official one. The unofficial ones that I get shows basically all the classes i took and credits earned throughout my high school years. I requested an official transcript today and got it, but it was inside a envelope and im not allowed to open it. i was just wondering how might the official one differ from the unofficial one.

Exactly. The purpose of official transcripts is to ensure that the enclosed information is indeed valid, not fallacious and manipulated.

There is no difference, except one has been certified by the school and has a seal on it. Do NOT OPEN THE ENVELOPE. The grades are the same.
