Any suggestions?
So i'm 20, and thus far in life I have been academically suspended from a university, and now I need a new start. I'm going to a community college to make up some credits, and if i pass them all I can go back to the previous university its so small and highs chool like. The thing is I don't want to go back there, nor do i want to spend another 3 years in college...i'm about 2 years from graduating, and could finish sooner with summer school! I'm considering the military to serve my country while start over, but i know once i do that there is no turning back for four years! any advice?

See if you can transfer to another university or college.

If not, seriously consider returning to your school and finishing as quickly as possible. Find a way to make it more bearable, like having outside interests as an oasis or concentrating on what you do like or the friends you do have, or choosing a major that will lead to an interesting career.

The military is a scary place to be right now and there are other ways to serve your country. (i.e. Peace Corp, teaching, volunteering, civil service, police, fire fighter, working on a political campaign, etc.)

If you do join the military, really figure out what you want to do and what you want to get out of it. (technical training, medical experience, money for college, etc.)

Good luck.

Can you really see yourself in the military?
That decision is a very, very serious one, and it is also one that you can't really have other people make for you.
Perhaps you should consider simply taking a break from school entirely, find a job that you can support yourself with, and at the same time relax, and "start over".
Like you said there really is no turning back especially considering the current situation concerning our military.
My advice to you is to take a break , like I said, and clear your mind- because you might regret your decision in the near future.
Hope that helped you!

I understand your stress in this choise,I went through it myself. I was your age and in a relationship that involved two children and it was time to **** or get off the pot. You need to decide if you are ready to commit to a total life change. The military will take care of you and yours to the utmost with all benefits imaginable but it is a life all it's own, good and bad. They do take care of you. I chose to go to collage and received an associates degree and have proceeded with life, struggling with health ins. etc. When you join the military, they own you and take care of your whole family, without a dought. If you go to school and get a job, life is all up to you no matter what income you are making. I hope this has helped you, and good luck in life.
