Just a couple questions here about med school -
* Does the schedule of med school allow u to hav an extra/part time job on the side and raise a small family?

* How long is med school really, like say cardiology or pedriatics, to get everything down where u're done and can practice full time, open your own practice, u know just get going?

My daughter is 9 and has said since she was 3 that she wanted to be involved in animal science/veterinarian medicine. She had me looking up colleges the other day. When do I start to take her seriously and when do we start to seriously look at schools? I am assuming after grammar school! However, I do know people who have taken college tours when their children were 12 or 13.

My husband is getting laid off of his job soon!

The company is offering several options for college.

They are offering to pay for a 12 week course in welding, electricity, hvac, small buisness management.

Or a 2 year degree in all courses offered at the local community college.

Which way should he go & what field should he go into besides nursing!

He say's NO NURSING for him!!!~

He is considering INSTRUMENTATION. "If you have ANY info about this course please enlighten!~"

Thanks so much for any & all help offered!~

“Literature adds to reality, it does not simply describe it. It enriches the necessary competencies that daily life requires and provides; and in this respect, it irrigates the deserts that our lives have already become.”
-- C.S. Lewis

“The answers you get from literature depend on the questions you pose.”
-- Margaret Atwood

“The test of literature is, I suppose, whether we ourselves live more intensely for the reading of it.”

“Of course the illusion of art is to make one believe that great literature is very close to life, but exactly the opposite is true. Life is amorphous, literature is formal.”
-- Francoise Sagan

“Literature is the orchestration of platitudes.”
-- Thornton Wilder

I think college should be made mandatory either 2 year or 4 year. I think there would be a lot less poverty, and welfare if college was made mandtory. Then our government should pay for tuition, books, housing (dorm) transportation (bus) and supplies, food. It sounds like it would cost a lot, but in the end all these other social programs to stop crime and pay for medicaid/foodstamps are too. I think there would be a lot less poor people, and welfare, and crimes if college was made mandatory. What do you think?

I am really interested in finding everything i can about med school, cause I think I want to go into the field. I was wondering if any med students on here, or doctors or people who are doing pre-med could give me an insight on how the schedule of a med student can be while they are in med school. Like do they have weekends and summers off , or holidays. And i think they have classes from mon-friday, may hours but im not sure. Any insight on this would help. Thanks
