To become a veterinarian you need at least 3- 4 years of undergraduate study. Different veterinary schools may have different class requirements but most are heavy with the science requirements. Therefore you would need classes such as biology, chemistry, physics, and biology. Other requirements may include animal science classes, and calculus. Also many of the vet schools require animal experience before applying whether it is voluntary or paid. Once all your requirements are completed applying to vet school is a very competitive process. In order to get your veterinary degree you have to complete at least 4 years of veterinary school. There are no holistic vet schools but many of the vet schools have clubs that are geared for people who are interested in holistic medicine. Good luck with your pursuit on becoming a veterinarian.

A Vet Tech is a vet nurse. You usually need a 2 year degree to work as a vet tech, but qualifications do vary with some states. Salary can be anywhere from $19,000 to $41,000. Vet Assistants are helpers to the Vet Techs and Vets. Most veterinary clinics will hire assistants with a high school diploma. There are certificate programs for vet assisting, but technically there isn't any need for them since you don't need to be certified to be a vet assistant. Salary can be between $15,000 and $31,000 but it's usually on the lower side.
