In the next day or two, I will be going to my college's freshman orientation. The size of the college is bigger than the town I live in! I don't know anyone else going to the orientation session that I am, and I was hoping for a few pointers on meeting people? Usually, I'm a pretty good people person, but sometimes when I don't know anyone, it's a little harder. I need something that will really work - not the cheesey "Nice shoes, wanna be friends?" Thanks so much!

I ask because I may be hired soon to teach basic composition at a public college. It seems only Ph.D.'s can teach literature, and I have an MA in English-Creative Writing. If I did want to teach literature as well as creative writing--and I'm not sure that I do want to teach literature--would I need a doctorate?

I'm reading through applications, and besides grades and scores, there's not much room for the school to see anything beyond your intellect. I'm not a perfect 4.0 student with great SAT scores, but I'm a good learner and I'm pretty smart. has anyone done something really good with their essay that got them noticed?

I have already done a degree in geography which wa cr#p (the course and grade) and now after spending 3 years on the farm I am thinking of doing a agricultual degree (with conservation) at Aberystwyth in Wales, which may benefit me and farm.

I am now 25, what i want to know is; are there any mature students here? and would you recommend it? Is it weird hanging out with people 5 years younger? Finally is it worth the money as i already have a £8k debt which is slowing being paid off. cheers.

ok... so it is REALLY important for me to be able to go to Harvard so that I can get the education that I need. The only drawback is, I'm not the best person at math. So if I take Advanced Placement classes in High School (except in math), and to the marching band do you think that I can get into Harvard?

I want to be an archaeologist. I am thinking about going to my local collage (which does not offer a degree in archaeology) and then going to another school and major in archaeology, since there aren't any good achaeology schools in my state. What should i major in at my local collage? I would like to be finacialy stable before i move somewhere else and major in archaeology. Would history be good?

I go to Owens Community College. I want to major in Small business management. There are two majors one is called Small Business Management Option and the other is Small Business Management Certificate. I dont' like school so the faster I get out of it the better. The only difference between the two are the class, option has 72 credit whereas the certificate has 22 credits. Does it really matter which one I take?
