If you went to a top school, you can expect to make six figures.

This varies on where you want ot live. For example, the average salary of someone coming out of Columbia is considerably more than someone coming out of Duke -- even though they are comparable programs. But that is because a lot of Columbia students stay in NYC -- while a number of Duke students stay in the South where the cost of living is less. Duke students who go to NYC make as much as Columbia students who go to NYC.

If you go to a good MBA program -- but not one of the top ones, you won't make nearly as much -- but you will do well.

If you don't go to a top 50 or 60 program -- it might buy you a couple extra thousand -- if that.

US News & World Reports and Business Week both have salary information on their web sites.
