Other colleges would be helpful...I was wondering if Chemical Engineering would be best, or Environmental Engineering. If there isnt a specific major, what can I combine to give me the best edge on producing alternative energy sources that are specifically geared towards environmentally sound policies. After that, I also want to open up my own consulting firm for companies who want to make their factories more environmentally friendly. I am just wondering what's the best tract to go for.

I'm planning on getting my MBA when I'm finished with my Ph.D. I'm trying to decide if I should go straight in to business school and get a standard MBA, or if I should work and take night/evening classes for a professional MBA. Is there a difference between an MBA and a Professional MBA? Do employers look more favorably on an MBA than a professional MBA?

2. You puke all over the guy next to you
3. You realize you have a pair of dirty underwear stuck to the back of your shirt. Skid marks showing.

I have an AA in Business from a Florida Comm. college, GPA is 3.5, want to get into BU's school of management. No real work experience. People say it's hard, but I won't find out if I've been accepted until a couple of weeks before I have to move from Florida to Boston! So, I need to know if I have a sure chance of getting accepted. (SAT scores average)

What are the advantages and disadvantages of going to a big or small college? I consider 2000 and less to be a small school, 2001-10,000 to be a medium school, and 10,001 and higher to be a large school....

I've heard that statement or things to its effect more than once in circles like scientific blogger communities and even some of my professor, and would like to know what people out there really think.

I'm an undergraduate biochemistry student, certain that I want to pursue further graduate education, but not certain just how. Up until recently, I was under the impression that one would have to have a Master's degree in order to get into a PhD program, but have now learned that this isn't the case, since it's possible to head into a PhD program while only holding a BS (at least in some cases, right?).

I'm interested in the fields of molecular biology and genetic engineering. My main career aspiration is to work in the research of vectors for gene therapy. Would it make sense to pursue a Master's degree? Are there any disadvantages to continuing into a PhD program while skipping the Master's stage altogether?

Any insight into this is greatly appreciated, thank you!

I attended The University of Texas at Austin and majored in Economics (specialization in Latin American Economies) and Spanish. I will begin my second year of teaching high school Spanish this fall; however, I am trying to find a way to attend grad school next fall and study in some type of foreign policy program. My overall GPA was quite poor - a 2.6 to be exact, but I was quite ill and spent the greater part of my last 1.5 years of school in and out of the hospital, only to have heart surgery the summer after graduation. My question is this : what can I do to combat my poor GPA in order to gain entrance into a decent grad program?
