Well it can be a very pleasant experience. It was for me. Are you sharing a room with anyone? If so, that can work out to your advantage, here's why..first of all you both would be freshman's and new to the College world. As you get to know one another you will develop a close relationship and end up becoming really good friends.

You will be able to explore the dorm's on campus, meet other people, and find out what you both are deciding on majoring and minoring in. It is natural to be a bit nervous on your first day, but in time, you will feel right at home.

It's a great way to discover your independence from mom and dad. It's kind of cool and fun. You're pretty much on your own, in a way, and in no time, you will develop so many great relationships with people, male and female. You will later even meet that special girl who's going to take your breathe away (lol) anyway, enjoy the dorm life, and look forward to a great college life.

Keep up with your school work, try not to skip on your classes, be on time, and you will be just fine.

So from me to you, Good luck, and be somebody when you graduate! Whatever makes you happy!

It may depend on dorm policies at your college but it can be a riot
or the worst thing you ever do. Had 3 children live in dorms. Seems like the co-ed dorms were the quietest and most organized. At the engineering college though, where 2 children
attended, the dorm was anything but normal, especially the freshman dorm. The fire alarm went off every night the first and second semester. That meant the students had to get out of bed so they could check every room. The 3rd floor Christmas tree rode the elevator at every opportunity. Older students drank excessive amounts of alcohol in the dorm. Privacy was a big issue. All 3 children had privacy concerns. Some students are at college to play around and do whatever because someone else
is paying so they really don't care how many years it takes. It is up to you to decide when is study time and when to have fun.

It depends on what type of person you are. But, I love living in the dorm. It seems like everything on campus is more fun when you live in the dorm because you are the first hear about all the fun stuff. Also, you seem to have make more friends and meet more people because there are more opportunities. If you value privacy, then living in the dorm won't be that fun. But if you don't mind, then it's grrreat. If you live in a coed dorm, it's even better. But, if you want to study then you may want to go to the library if your dorm doesn't have quiet hours.

The overall experience was great and I would do it over again if I could. Of the 4 years that I lived on campus I only had one roommate. We got along wonderfully and would've stayed roommates had she not become a RA (resident advisor). The last 3 years I had my own room which was really nice. Even when I had my own room I still didn't have too much privacy because I did share a bathroom with someone else. In those 3 years of sharing a bathroom, I only liked one person. I didn't like hearing all the things that happened in the other rooms or the majority of the people that lived on the hall. Part of that is due to me being a very private person. I also majored in Ecology so I needed a lot of quiet time to study and write reports/papers. I wasn't much into the party scene so it did irritate me when people went overboard with the drinking. I did like being near the library, my classes, the computer lab, and near the gym (to watch basketball).

It's a great experience but you just need to find a way to keep yourself from flipping out on the stupid people that are around you. You also need to make sure that you find ways to keep yourself on top of your work.

It can be loud and not private. (Depends on the style of dorm you live in.) I was in a suite type dorm house and that was fantastic! You really need to keep yourself focused though! It's EASY to fall into the party scene and lose track of why you're really there. Good luck!

many times you may ought to be an entire time pupil to stay interior the dorms. this is executed with the aid of fact of constrained housing area on campus. each and each college is distinctive, however, however the widespread rule is that area timers won't be able to survive campus. as a strategies with the aid of fact the 2nd question, there is not any age cut back and generally times there could be graduate/married pupil housing.

hated it. No privacy. Roommate problems. Constant partying (that can be fun though). Eating crappy food (yeah, gaining the freshmen 15).

The only time I loved it was when I got a single room.

it was great....there are so many people around but there was still places to go to be alone. it helps if you get along with the people on your floor but even if there is someone you don't get along with there are a lot more you will. there are things to do together as a floor or whatever. its a great experience.

Like having no privacy, and getting stuck living with people you may not like or get along with.
