I just got a mailing list of my high school graduating class and was shocked to see that a couple of my classmates have died. is there a source online I can look them up? Simple yahoo searches are not working.

My father and I are having an argument whether Personal Essay is harder then Creative essay.
He's stating that Personal Essays are the easiest to write.
Also does Creative essay counts as a category like: Descriptive Essay, Narrative Essay, Persuasive essay and personal essay?

I am a Chinese male Malaysian with a huge passion to travel across the ocean to study in United States. I have excellent high school results (8 distinctions out of 11 subjects taken) & I study in one of the best school in my country.

By encouraging kids to post homework questions?

The most valuable skill anyone ever learns in school, and some would argue the ONLY valuable skill you learn, is how to look things up.

Much of what students are spoonfed is wrong. Most will never be useful and nearly all will have been forgotten by the time it would have been useful.

But if you know how to do research, you can learn anything and have it at your fingertips whenever you need it. The internet makes it incredibly easy. No more stuffy libraries, no more Dewey Decimal System, no more thumbing through card files, just a few keywords and BAM, you've got the answer.

Are we doing kids a service by not making them look things up for themselves? Or are we doing would be tyrants a service by making sure kids don't learn to think for themselves?

I currently live in Ohio, but plan to attend SBCC in the fall of 2008. I just wondered if I could transfer to the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) after spending one year at SBCC. Even though SBCC is a community college, is there any sort of social life there? And lastly, is the acting program good at SBCC and UCSB?

I would like a grammatical explanation, please do not post anything like, 'I think it's xx' or 'who = subjective & whom = objective'.

Please also do not simply post grammar websites as I asked the question because I've read through and still am confused.

In the following sentence, 'whom' is being used:

A dinner was given in honor of the man whom everyone knew would be the prospective president of the company.

Please state whether using 'whom' is correct or not, and provide grammatical reasonings to support your answer.

I know about the objective/subjective view. However, what I need to know is 'how' to analyze this sentence to know whether to use whom or who?

I would like to see an answer that explains the choice with grammatical reasonings instead of a grammar website.
