I am a lefty, I use my left hand for everything except controlling the computer mouse. I also kick with my left foot. I know that leftys are not really common. So, who's a lefty on yahoo answers.?

I'm going to end this in one or two days.
I'll give ten points to whoever has the most intersting let/right hand story.
=D.

When I was born I was left handed. I started school in 1950 and in those days they thought that left handed people were not as clever as right handed ones so being left handed was discouraged. They would tie your left arm by your side and force you to use your right hand. The result : my writing is rubbish although intellectually I am regarded as 'Gifted' by MENSA. As the years went by I found that when playing football (proper football or soccer if you're a Yank) I could kick with both feet and use my left hand for almost as many tasks as my right. About one eighth of the population are 'Lefty's'.

I'm a proud lefty!
writing
computer mouse use
guitar
baseball (hitting and pitching)
..the list goes on.
BUT..I'm a righty for bowling (go figure)
The only task that I've mastered over the years using BOTH hands/sides equally has been drumming (I can play both left-handed and right handed.) Other than these two areas, I'm 100% left-handed.

I'm lefty. I can only write with my left hand, but I can control a computer mouse with both hands. I can also use silverware with both hands. For the longest time I had to use a manual can opener backwards because using my right hand to operate it was too awkward. I can only use scissors with my right hand though. Also, I'm a righty when it come to catching/throwing a baseball/softball.

I'm a lefty and just like you I do everything with my left hand. I think that is why I have given up learning to drive a stickshift! Also, my mom and sis are both leftys too.

Did you know that people that are left handed AND have glasses tend to be smarter than a lot of right handed people?

I write and do many things with my right hand - however, I pick up the phone and also do many things with my left hand. My children are both left handed - my chiropractor says that I am really left handed but was forced to be a righty in school.

I'm right handed. My dad was a lefty and out of my five sisters and four brothers, one of my brothers is lefty.

I'm a righty, but I have an uncle who's a southpaw and my great-grandfather was too, though back then it was considered a deviant behavior that the schools tried to suppress and he became fairly ambidextrous. He could write his name simultaneously with both hands.

I'm ambidextrous...I use both hands equally. I don't have a dominant side, except for writing.
Just lucky, I guess.
