I'm not sure about going to college or not. I'd like to... But I don't think I can afford it without going way into debt. My parents have money, but they've nearly disowned me--not because of me. It's a matter of mental illness, abuse and denial. My mother will tell people that she will. She's lying. She's nuts... No, he won't get involved either. They never follow thru--it's all just an act.

Anyway, I've learned I can't depend on them for even basics, let alone college. I'm basically living on my own out of their basement. I started my own web business back when I was too young to get a job and have saved everything I could. I have $6,509.

I'm 17, a junior in high school and I get all As and Bs. So I'm going to be on my own, and I don't know if I want to risk everything I've saved, you know? It's not going to be like I'm going to have them to fall back on.

For my goals, college isn't absolutely nessicary, but wouldn't hurt. But I'm scared I'll end up dead broke.

My greatgrandmother was "Memmy Morgan." I always thought "Memmy" meant grandmother. I started a new job recently, where a woman is nicknamed Memmy. Does Memmy really mean Grandmother, or does it mean something else? Does it come from another language (Polish, etc.)?

I messed up in high school. I dropped out and obtained my GED. But it has been 3 years since high school and for the past 2 years I've been working my butt off at community college. Now I want to transfer to a university. I have a 4.0 GPA and extremely high SAT and ACT scores. I have a ton of extracurriculars and a load of volunteer work. That being said, how much will my awful high school history matter to high ranking universities?

I was under the impression that it was used to describe something negatively. Like saying someone's explanation sounds like complete bullshit (rhetoric) to me. Am I on the right track or is it something totally opposite. Please give examples

Hi, I am an 18 year old male, about to graduate from highschool. Unfortunately, I have no idea of what I want to do. My courses are pretty crummy; only maths and sciences (and english). Marks are in the mid-high 80 range, not to spectacular and I am open to all suggestions.
The only thing I look for in a job, as of right now, is money (pretty shallow I know). All suggestions are more than welcome. I thank you in advance.

Hi every body
I have a problem that summons attention of all those who really care for the education of our young ones. We very honestly solve different problems of our children on Yahoo answers where every body is free to participate. I have recently found that there was a homework problem of Mathematics given by some student. It was a bit complicated one. I found many solutions in the yahoo answers. Except for two answers, other were either wrong or not serious ones. After a few days I found that a WRONG solution was selected by voters to be the best. I have nothing to say against the people’s verdict. But as a teacher I am really concerned with the fate of Students who consider these solutions to be authentic. Will they not be misguided? I would request all the wise persons who really care for our young generation to come forward with some feasible solution and request Yahoos to consider it.
