My husband went to the bank with me today to set up a joint account.He's been with that bank for a few years now.When we gave them our SSNs, there were 2 different people with the same number, having accounts with that bank already. How can 2 people share the same Social Security Number?? They told us to report it to the Social Security, my husband monitors his credit reports but it has never come up. It's a different name, address, date of birth -just the same number...

ok so this might sound stupid but I want to attend Juilliard's Drama program. I looked online was just wondering what Juilliard used fro the basis of admission. I know I have to audition but do they look at anything else like grades and that kind of stuff?

I'm currently attending a pretty high-ranking 4-year liberal arts college, and I have a GPA of about 3.95 (4.0 in English). I'm pretty sure I can hold (or possibly improve) this average through graduation, and I also think I'm on track to get into Phi Beta Kappa.

I know a lot of the Ivy League colleges have a SUPER-strict admissions policy... Cornell, for example, only lets 15 new students per year into their English grad program. As far as diversity goes, the fact that I'm a white male certainly won't help my case much, but my being poor and being from the Southwest (only 3% of Cornell's students are) might somewhat.

What think'st thou, folks? Am I dead in the water, or do I have a fighting chance?

Some background...my daughter is an 8th grader and has always been a straight A student. She takes accellerated English classes and also takes Geometry with high school sophomores. She's involved in extra curricular activities and until now she has NEVER had a teacher that didn't like her.

This year she has gotten an A- for both semesters in one class. It's an 8th grade class and will not affect her high school GPA next year. Our school has an online gradebook that I can see all my daughter's scores for the whole year. The ONLY thing she scores low in for the class is "participation". ALL other grades are high A's. She doesn't understand why she is getting a low participation grade because she always does what she is supposed to do, but she thinks that the teacher doesn't like her because she isn't "girly" enough (hasn't started wearing make-up, wears jeans & t-shirts, etc.). An A- isn't a big deal to me, but she is upset because she works so hard.

For example, I have seen both:

Which is correct, or more correct? Does it make a difference in English and American English? Does it make a difference whether the object is alienable or inalienable?

I just finished Spanish 1 and 2 in my freshman year and sophomore year. I have done OKAY~~ not the best, but I am understanding everything, like the reflexive verbs and so forth. But the problem is, I'm afraid I might fail Spanish 3. I got no higher than a B in my foriegn language classes. I am very scared once i get into spanish 3. I'm starting at community college for a year or two, to knock out all the required courses before transferring to a college specializing in Hospitality. I'd like to be a manager of a hotel, resort, cruise ship, something of the like. A lot of the schools have the two aformentioned majors. What is the difference between the two? If I were to guess, it sounds like Hotel Management may be more specialized in just that, where as Hospitality Management might be more broad? But, I could be wrong. Which one would be the better choice for a good career? Anybody have any insight on this? Websites with info on the career would be appreciated also =)
