Some of these days I think I'm getting too old. People usually pass me by and say "It's a grand old flag!" I find that highly insensitve! But then one day, I was walking through the park with my mom and noticed someone staring at me. "Look, ma, he's making eyes at me!" I was startled, but whatever. We continued walking and then finally sat down on a bench underneath some flowering trees. I was wondering what they were, when all of a sudden, the man was standing there and said, "Green grow the lilacs." They smelled lovely! It was Memorial Day weekend, so the man invited us to a barbeque that was going on on the other side of the park. We could hear "Yankee Doodle Dandy" playing in the distance. He started singing "God Bless America" when we got there, and that's when we found out that he was our mayor!

It's a grand old flag I would put on his grave with the engraving on his tomb. God Bless America.
