44^2 = 1936
45^2 = 2025

1936 < x < 2025

x is a multiple of 65 (both 5 and 13 are factors)

x = 1950 or 2015 (both numbers fit all the criteria)

I don't think you can really set up an equation. This is a reasoning problem. However, I get two different answers.
First, find 44^2. 44 * 44 = 1936 so this is the lower bound of the answer.

Then, 45^2 = 2025. This is the upper bound of the answer.
We know the answer is a multiple of 13 so find out if 1936 is a multiple of 13. 1936/13 = 149.9.

Its not, but it seems that 150 * 13 would work. We know 5 will be a factor since 5 is a factor of 150. 150*13 = 1950

So, 1950 fits the requirements. However, now let's see about the next multiple of 5 and 13. This would be 155 * 13.

155 * 13 = 2015 This fits the conditions also.

Checking the next value 160 * 13 = 2080 so this does not fit.

Finding a value for an integer which will produce the correct results seems to be the most direct route. Since x is divisible by both 5 and 13, then it is also a multiple of 65. So x = 65k. The trick is to find out what values k can assume.

Since x lies between 44² and 45², then we can make this assertion:

1936 < 65k < 2025.

Now we just divide through the entire inequality by 65 to find out what k can be. Since k can only be an integer, that makes our work easier.

1936 / 65 < 65k / 65 < 2025 / 65
29.78 < k < 31.15

So k is an integer which lies between the two numbers above. Only two values for k fit the bill: k = 30 and k = 31. So, we are left to conclude that x = 30(65) = 1950 and x = 31(65) = 2015.

x = 1950
x = 2015

This is a trial and error problem. Answering these questions will help you:
a) What is the value of 44 squared?
b) What is the value of 45 squared
c) What is a factor? d) What does a mulitple mean? <- CHECK!!!!

2025 > x > 1936
1950 = 13 * 150

Or you can see it this way which was already on done on Yahoo answers
If x is the number, then:
44^2 < x < 45^2
1936 < x < 2025
x = 25a where a is an integer ..........(1)
1936 < 25a < 2025
a = 13b where b is an integer ..........(2)
1936 < 25*13*b < 2025
1936 < 325b < 2025
Dividing by 325:
5.956... < b < 6.2307....
As b is an integer, b must be 6.
Hence from (1) and (2):
x = 25 * 13b
= 25 * 13 * 6
= 1950.

There are actually two answers that would work with this equation. 44 squared is 1936 and 45 squared is 2025. The first answer would be:

2015
if you work backwards to check:
2015 / 13 = 155
2015 / 5 = 403

The second answer is:
1950
Working backwards...
1950 / 13 = 150
1950 / 5 = 390

Therefore, there are two possible answers which are 1950 and 2015.

44^2 = 1936
45^2 = 2025
5 x 13 = 65
2025 / 65 = 31 .538
The number is 31 x 5 x 13 = 2015

1950
44 squared is 1936
45 squared is 2025
It has to end in 5 or 0 for 5 to be a factor
1940 is the lowest divisible by 5 but divide it by 13 you get 149.23, so take 150 and multiply by 13, 1950

Take 44 and square it.
Divide by 13
Divide that result by 5
You'll end up with a non-integer answer. Round up to the next highest integer.

Well, you were asking for bad help after all.

I didn't check them all, but 1950 worked. I simply found the squares and then found those divisible by 5 or 13.
