Why is English a compulsory course to do the HSC? I mean, people argue that English is the most important subject because you'll get no where if you can't communicate with others etc etc... but all we do is look at poetry Shakespeare and novels and films and extracts from the Wind in the Willows, for gods sake. Why is it so important to know how to critically analyse texts?? Surely it should only be optional. What do you think??

I'm looking for a math tutor, and I've heard of Sylvan, but is it just for kids? I'm 25 and looking to freshen up on basic math for an upcoming NET test. Are there any other tutoring services for adults that you know of? Provide links if possible. Thank you.

It seems to correct to use the expression "you couldn't care less," eg: "you couldn't care less about global warming, so don't pretend to be outraged by..."

Yet in everday usage, I more often hear people say "you could care less..." which doesn't make sense, unless intended to be sarcastic.

I need to know how to find the height a of right angled triangle without measuring it if I know the lengths of the sides. This is so I can work out the area, which I already know how to do, but in some of the problems the height of the triangle isn't given, only the side measurments are.
E.g a triangle with sides of 50mm, 13mm and 12mm. How would I work this out? Please explain!!!
