I'm looking for a math tutor, and I've heard of Sylvan, but is it just for kids? I'm 25 and looking to freshen up on basic math for an upcoming NET test. Are there any other tutoring services for adults that you know of? Provide links if possible. Thank you.

Sylvan probably will tutor older people but they're really expensive and sometimes the tutors don't know what they're doing. If you're near a college have a college student in the major you need to help you. They're all starving and will work for cheap.

You can get a consultation before joining Sylvan's program. An adult trying to freshen up on basic math may require "more" effort. Hiring a private tutor will help, especially if you have one-on-one lessons. However, a good private tutor may be a little pricey. So you gotta think about that too. You might as well think outside the box! Go for online tutoring. Try sites like:
1. http://www.tuitionplaza.com/tutoring/ - tutoring by retired teachers and volunteers (free)
2. http://www.tutor.com - tutoring by professional tutors (not free)
3. ... and many more (use search engine!).
Think outside the box and you'll have more options.

A tutoring service will tutor people of any age. Since you already have experience, you will learn faster than younger students. Why not check out your local service and see what they have to offer?
