You could enter a PH.D program and teach in a university while you're obtaining it. Or you could work and study part-time.

Higher Studies After Mba Finance

As I have been in the field of education & training for over 20 years, I am asking you: Why did you do MBA in F inance ? Why do you wish to study after MBA in Finance ?

It is a professional course, gain some work experience first, and then consider going for further studies if you still want to.

Best wishes !

Some options if you want to continue in the finance field:

Masters of Science in Finance -- gives you specialized knowledge in finance since an MBA program doesn't provide enough finance courses to make you an expert in the field. Specializations exist such as corporate finance, etc. Usually can be completed in one year full time.

Independent/seminar courses to prepare for a CFA designation. Take up to level III.

Other certifications depending on speciality (as CFA's power is becoming rather diluted with too many people in it). CAIA for instance, for alternative investments, is a really good one if you want to do hedge funds.

Ph.D Bus/Finance/Econ -- unless you plan to work in academics, it is not recommended to pursue this option as it is time consuming and incurs a lot of opportunity costs.

I feel doing ICWA and CS togather are the best option as in CFA you will be repeating what you have done in MBA and furthe CFA do not have the reputation which CA,ICWA and CS got.

I am in the same situation. I started going for my PHD. however, it would not help me get ahead at my employer. In fact, it would have the opposite affect. It could hold me back.

I am now just weighing many option.
