ok so this might sound stupid but I want to attend Juilliard's Drama program. I looked online was just wondering what Juilliard used fro the basis of admission. I know I have to audition but do they look at anything else like grades and that kind of stuff?

Audition will offset grades. So do a GREAT audition.

The STAFF will be there and you have to impress them.

When my friend Anita Skinner was at Juliard the HEAD of the Drama deparement was John Houseman, who's now dead of course. But HE ran the school of drama so THAT is who you will be autioning for. A John Houseman

They WILL expect you to have a good B average in your courses.

But Juliard is a conservatory, a school. They don't issue GRADUATE degrees except through EXCHANGE programs with other NY Universities that offer the heavy SOLIDS.

They ARE accredited for BA degrees and MFA in Music.

Another OPTION is Pasadena Playhouse in California

Consider THAT ONE too

They also have an MFA program in theater

no person is a hundred% confident that they're going to bypass to Juilliard. There are so few spots and it is not a lock for absolutely everyone. Many prodiges are grew to become away because of the fact of so few places. It has a pair of 6% acceptance cost. Grades count little as all you like is a C ordinary and no SAT or ACT rankings. that's a hundred% approximately your audition. lots of the musicians prevalent to Juilliard have won national and international track competitions. enjoying 7 instruments isn't a plus because it maximum probable takes time faraway from the single you would be able to desire to be ideal in to get in. enjoying one exceedingly properly properly is a would desire to. pupils that get prevalent learn with the very precise instructors interior the occupation and practice 6-8 hours daily. that's what you would be up against.

Yes. Their admission process is very much like that of any other university, except that the audition plays a very significant role. If you have poor grades you probably won't get the chance to audition. If you have great grades but bomb the audition, you won't get in.
