Education & Reference - 24 March 2007

I'm a freshman in college right now. I thought I would major in Industrial Engineering. I'm not doing so well in my classes now, so I don't think I could make it as one. I was thinking about other majors and I thought about atmospheric science. Does anyone know if atmospheric science is easier or harder than industrial engineering? I'm not set on atmospheric science but I would also like to know what's out there. Does anyone know of a career that doesn't require me having to save someone's life but also gets a pretty good salary? For example, I know I don't want to be a doctor because I would feel really terrible if one of my patients died. Thanks for any responses.

i have to write an essay for the university, i want to get accepted. Help me please!!!
Here is what I am supposed to write about in the essay:

I've started writing but i don't know how to describe it . I mean I'm interested but need some pointers to start ( well i don't know how to describe love learning sth when there's no other reasons :( )

I Really want to graduate, in the top ten percentile of my school, I'm alreay in it but, I don't no how to maintain in it. I mean next year. there'll be people in my grade taking ap classes(tenth grade) and I don't plan on taking any untill 11 grade. Any tips. Im doing a drama exam next week and my group are crap they havent been bothered to do anything, i have bought all props and music-EVERYTHING and it has cost quite a bit of money, and its out of my pocket money. I dont mind buying things at all but they havent done nothing, not even learnt their lines, they smashed my wine glasses (accidental) but thats not the point. Should I make them share the cost out equally between the group, because i have purchased absolutley EVERYTHING!

I have two young friends who are talking about going to school for this. They already have the basics of welding down. Learned at a Job Corps center. Every place seems so expensive and these guys have nothing. I'd love to find them some scholarships rather then them trying to use student loans (which I think is an awful idea!) They can travel.
